Barking on track

I have a eleven month old bobtail cur pup that I have been huntin for about three months and she has started finding her own hogs. But sunday i watched her yap on track.  She was only about a hundred yards behind the hog. Any way to stop her from doing it?

Try using the tone on a shock collar and if that doesn't work bump them with a small amout of shock.  Start small and work your way up if results are not what you want.  I have seen some will never get over this problem.

I've had several pups that grew out of it the're just exited, but had few that didnt. But i wouldn't shock when the're after a hog. Give em little more time with silent dogs good chance will grow out of it.

Dogs aren't stupid, they not what there supposed to be after and they know the difference between running a hog and running a deer. I would't recommend it on a pup but on a dog that consistently find pigs it will work.

Jesse Paul (lionandboarhunter) CONSISTENLY catches hogs and I'm sure if he's ready to go home and his dogs are bayed he can get them back to the truck with a shock collar haha

I have a shock collar but really dont want to hit her with it. Afraid she might stop tracking. I seen the hog she was trailin.  He was only about 50 yards ahead of her in the woods.

if anyone ever finds out a sure fire way i will be game i know ppl who have shocked dogs and it works i know for a fact also know some who have ruined a dog and won't ever do it again so you have 50 50 shot i see it in my opinion it depends how the dog reacts to it like some people can work well under pressure others can't

She's probably still got a lot of puppy in her and sometimes pups trail bark cuz they're trying to say hey wait up,  just like a kid.  May grow out of it, may not only time will tell

I have seen dogs "fixed" by shocking them while they are trail barking. It is my belief that if the hunt is in them you can't beat it out of them, that includes trail barking. Some times it is learned, some times it is in their blood. Dogs that were ruined weren't that solid to start or had a trigger happy handler IMO. Age, experience, dog personality all play factors in how to train the dog. No one can tell you exactly what to do, or how far to take it with out knowing the dog.

As stated start with tones, then light stimulation. If she doesn't break after that then either accept it or put her in the Dog Trade. Some people do not mind it and will hunt her no problem.

HEY TX HOG I NOTICED LIL RED IS STARTING TO YIP ON A TRACK I WATCHED RED THE OTHER DAY AND HE DOES IT I WOULD NEVER SHOCK HER FOR YIPIN ON A TRACK I THINK IT IS THEY ARE EXCITED THERE FINDING ONE OR SOMETHIN LIKE THAT KIND OF LIKE WHEN YOU GIVE A KID SOME CANDY LOL

I have had and seen several pups yip on track   (pups) They get really excited on a hot track.I have seen more pups grow out of it than not. But a proven finished dog is a done deal most of the time I would not recomend hitting the dog with electricity.And I am a firm believer in shocking a dog to break of bad habits.I would say just give her time. But That is my oppinion.

hey tx hog i know that is who you were talking about im just saying hazel is doing it also but not as much marge does it when shes on a deer lol just kidding i would cull her if she was a open mouthed deer chaser at least she is a silent deer chaser lol..............

Consistancy is the key. If not you send the dog the wrong message. You can use shock collars but try a bark collar around the house first. When leading up to the shock collar put it on 2 first just to bump the dog so he knows not to bark but should keep trailing.
