Labrahoula lol..........Some family freinds had the neighbors lab slip in on a litter of Cur pups a long time ago.....Only one pup was tainted but he turned out ok and liked to work hogs and cows. Ended up being a very big dog but they kept him as a pet or 3rd string working dog and did'nt hunt him much because they had a yard full of real dogs that he could not hang with when things got serious. U can see how big he was next to a regular sized Cur. We had a Lab/Pit that we found starving on the side of the road and took him in as a charity case. We Used him as a catch dog some and was pretty handy in some situations, but big hogs would make him bay, which usually just got the Curs cut up because he would let go of big hogs and leave them hanging in a bad spot. Down in South Texas a Buddy of my dads used to Manage the Herradura Ranch and back then he had a Jack Russel terrier (Tripod) with three legs cause one got big off by a hog. When the Curs had a hog bayed in the prickly pair they would turn tripod loose and he would crawl in there and make that hog leave out of there so they could shoot the hog. Speaking of Border collies.......On one of the ranches we hunt the manager has a border collie and allot of times we will bay hogs down on a creek below the headquarters and that dog will come down and bay with our dogs. But like critter said, he does not bark much and usually just screws things up. Waylon

I swear this weekend I saw a german shepherd looking yard dog strike and bay hogs. I thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread.
I've been really studying stock dogs lately because I'm ready to get a couple of my Aussies working stock. I'm going to be training them myself this time because I don't have the money just laying around to send them off to a trainer like we did a few years back (having 12 dogs is different than having one). Anyway, I've been reading up on theory and have come across the explanation of the "herding drive" that our Aussies and your Border Collies have. It's actually "Prey Drive". The difference in the herding dogs and a cur dog is that the herding dog is trying to run the prey back to man. They have been bred for this behavior, but the drive is the same. This is based on the opinions of the herding dog folks.

I know a fellow that has two walker/labs. They are built like a walker w/ a black labs coat. They were an accident but made jam up dogs.
Also know an old fellow that has a bunch of 1/2 wolf, 1/4 pitt, 1/4 catahoulas. Rather nasty creatures, dont have much nose, dont hunt real hard, but you can send em to a bay or race and they will have him stretched or dead when you get there. LOL

I havent seen the walker/labs in about a year, the fellow that own them lives off a good piece and only see him on occasion. Friend of a freind.
Two of the wolves look like wolves, big dogs about 80lbs. plus, the other looks like a brindle wolf and for some strange reason he wags his tail up and down instead of side to side, LOL Most of the pups off of them look like great big black cyotes. They serve their owners purpose but I personaly wouldnt want one because they realy dont hunt that good and are rather nasty animals. I will get a picture of them if I have the camera handy next time I hunt with him.

Figure this must be an Airdale cross of some sort.....The dog is owned by one of our customers from Korea. He is the only sale I've made of a 2XL cut vest....there is quite a language barrier so I can't get much info other than he needs a 2XL vest and he loves killing hogs....he also must have a handful of them because he ordered 8 vests at a time all in 2XL size!

I love Airedales! I don't know how I could have forgotten to mention them into my list of breeds. since that is what was one of the contributing breeds in my own dogs.

Pig Snatcher, They are not a cur and they are not a hound which are you two most common types. They fit into the terrier breeds which is not the norm for hog hunting (even though tey were bred for large game), I like to think they are Normal, but I often get ythat look from people Cody, that might even be Toooooo ugly for me!

Dont know much on Airedales....I know they're not a super rare dog, but thought ya'll may like seeing a Korean hog dog dressed up.....from what I can understand by his text I thought this dog was crossed with something else....maybe not though.... Krystal, Yeah....that Stag cross would add a whole new level to the "Ugly Dog" theme!
