I buy my hinges at Tractor Supply. Good, heavy steel ones designed to be welded on anything.

Those latches can be bought at T.S. as well.
I have used them on my custom under body toolboxes on my flatbeds.
Again, good and stout, plus you can buy them with built in locks if you need to lock it.

Here's a picture of my old box. If you look close you will notice the rod iron pin, there is a chain welded to the pin to lock each side. I like the option to lock the box on road trips. There is also a lock clasp on the top that can be locked as well. A few years ago I did not think that it was too heavy....

Moore Industrial Supply has a very large selection of hinges and latches.  Google or Yahoo them.  The box I posted is very stout.

Spaz hog has a very nice hunting rig with a lot of great ideas on it.  You may see if she would share some pics.

I have latches like underdogs and they will come open without that clasp in place if you hit many bumps.

10-4......I bought the box and did not build it and if I ever get around to it I may change them but w/ the snaps there and the way it fits in my truck I have not had a problem. However I don't like them for another reason, a eager to load dog will hag its collar/vest on them some times.

I built this box a few years ago and had my mom make a rain/cold weather cover for it.  I also had it powder coated.  It was a hell of a box but like most things I have I sold it and built another.
