Its spring break and we were able to put a good hunt together for some kids! Big E, his girlfriend REba's kids: Colton and Lindsay, Lindsay's boyfriend Murray, Skyler, Cordell, my girlfriend Candace and I all loaded up and went to Trinity... we were finally able to get a rain on Tuesday, couple that with a day we could get out and track hunt! WE split up and rode the roads the first hour and we ultimately found the hog we wanted to start over near E's food plot.. So we pull up to the rooting and unload Boogie(the 18 month old phenom) and his momma Roxxy! These two are old stock red curr dogs with a touch of hound; they cold trailed for about 15 minutes making a big 500 yard loop working it out through the food plot and plantation trailing him straight to his bed 245 yards from us. We send  some grit to them in Wilma, Drake and Sadie. They all bay him for a few minutes and just as we pull up they break and cross White Rock creek twice baying about .6 miles from us. We get around to them and they have him surrounded on a big knoll.. He's bayed about 100 yards from the river in some open hardwoods and with him standing on the rise, he was definitely playing KING OF THE HILL! We send Obama to them and now the fun starts.

The barr does his best but they finally mug down enough that I can get in behind him... Well he sits down just as I get there, so here I am pretty much bear hugging him trying to get a leg (like a rookie I never took my gloves off and could get no grip due to the water).

Colton finally nuts up and gets in there with we, and now were both bear hugging trying to get a leg, Well this hog has had enough and when he gets his second wind... It was either hang on and ride him or bail cuz he was spinning fast lol we were both bailling pretty quick Smiley

Hahah this is us Bailing out quick

the dogs did good never letting go and now he was up standing enough that Big E was able to bulldoze him in the side and grab leg! After that it was pretty much over besides the picture taking....

We couldnt take too long though because, Roxxy, Boogie,Sadie and Wilma had rolled out and were bayed 900 yards back up the creek.. We went and caught a little 100# spotted boar.

Its getting on about 11 now and I take some dogs back to the trailer and get Roscoe and Cowboy. Roxxy and boogie had arleady found another shoat and had just started a decent boar hog... 3.5 hours later Cowboy and roscoe finally get this booger stopped long enough to send Obama in from about 300 yards,(we had already seen the hog a few times and knew he wasnt too big) Eric and the girls catch this 170 lb boar in a slough and call it a day.. Great hunt, our first barr of the year(about Dang time!) this is the 6th year in a row this place has produced a hog over 300#'s Smiley ENJOY
