That's about anybodies guess! From what I've seen over the years anywhere from 8-14 months old and sometimes older.

Laci the rule of thumb is two heats a year. But there are lots of variables that may or may not happen to change that. Bitches can bring each other in pretty easy. If there is only one female on the yard she may not come in at all. I have seen that happen. But as a rule if she gets bred on her first heat she should come into heat again pretty easy the next time. Around 6 months after the pups are weaned she should come into heat again. But it could be sooner or it could be later. Hope this helps out. Call Terri she is my dog midwife. She knows it all.

Thanks Ronnie....we thought Chula was in heat but now Rick in thinking that she isn't. She has been in heat 2 times before. This would have been her 3rd time. So I was just wondering. We are ready for her to have some puppies!!
