had a good hunt sunday, with some good company.  put the dogs on the ground about 8 am, we had a good north wind so the dogs took off into the wind.
dogs made a big circle and came back in. we rode another 1/2 mile , bob heard a dog baying to the north, we rode that way and bay had broke, pull out the garmin and they were on the move to the north.  we had to come back south to get on top of the mountian, when we got on top i checked the garmin and my sally dog was bayed a little over 800 yrds to the north. we got to the bay and had a 100# sow caught in a pond. caught the sow and the dogs rolled out to the north ,  we could hear another bay.  so we headed that way, bay broke a couple of times we ended up about a mile north west with a 20 # shoat. sally was gone so  i checked the garmin and had lost comunication at .6 mile.  loaded the shoat on a horse and went looking for sally. my garmin started counting down right up till 200 yrds still with a ? mark, them it clicked to .68 mile.  so we kept moving on, finally got within hearing distance and couldnt hear a thing,we kept going toward her, finally my catch dog heard a bark and took off.   ended up in a really cool canyon ful of caves and bluffs, sally was baying a 20# shoat in a big bluff.  i didnt get any pictures of the hogs but i got some good pictures of the bluff.

Sounds like it was an exciting hunt in some beautiful country. Good thing you were on horses, sounded like it would've been a long walk.

I like it!  That is some really rough looking hunting there.

Sounds like a great time, guys! When y'all get to that dalton gang cave, could you take some pics? I would love to have a photo of the carvings in a frame!

Good hogs, good country, good dogs, and good friends - that's pretty much what its all about!

Cheers
M

Ps craig, how would I go about getting a "sally dog"?

Glad to see you are off the injured reserve list!  Great Pics, but I am partial to flat land and swamps. Smiley
