why does everybody run black cut vests,why not bright colors you can see. Does anybody run the ballistic cut vests or are they no count.

It was actually somewhat of an inside joke about a certain "one out" superdog we all read and heard so much about a couple years ago. There was a photoshopped photo floating around of said dog, with a superman s on his chest. I decided to have Tyson's vest emroidered with the s. At the same time, I also had the reward/phone number patch made. I figured many people are afraid of bulldogs and would not get close enough to read his id tags on his collars, so I made it easy for anyone should he be found lost in the future.

This may be a stupid question, but has anyone thought about the advantage a catchdog gain from wearing a less bright vest? The way I see it is if a catchdog can get in there relatively un-noticed he has a chance to initiate the contact and catch the hog somewhat off guard. It seems like a bright vest could catch the hogs attention and give him the chance to square up on the catchdog and make things a whole lot more difficult. Just a thought.... BTW, my vests are green allowing for a ninja stealth attack.  |

i run a neon orange vest. its a triple layer ballistic. and when i got it i was a lil unsure about it. but it has done damn good so far. the out side layer is lookin pretty rough now but a pig has yet to blow a hole all the way through it [knock on wood]. there are spots that it has opened the 2nd layer up but no more than that. but as far as color i dont think it hurts anything

Chris --- where did you get that tag with number?  that is a great idea--that and superman patch you can't go wrong. (Wonder if hogs are color blind anyway---reason Im askin is I was repairing a feeder one day and laying on the ground beside it wearing a redshirt making all kindsa racket--the feeder went off and about three hogs ran in within 5 feet of me chowing down---my red truck was right there too--I laid real still watching them--for awhile--ttill one of us got spooked. color did not seem to matter, wind musta been just right and they must not a minded chevys either. thanks JC |

JC, I have a local embroidery shop that I use for my caps, etc. I told them what I needed, and they made the patches for me. I then took the patches and vest to a local Upholstery shop and he sewed everything up for me. I spoke with Patsy yesterday, and she is working on a custom vest made for Mandi's dog Tater. It's going to be a little bit different than anything else out there...just like Mandi  |

just for my 2 cents a hog is color blind so it can be HOTT pink like the cut collar my wife bought me just cause she thought it would be funny but it dont matter they dont know colors....lol

She is a keeper for sure. Congrats on getting her to buy into you in the beginning. Mine would never ask for a cut vest much less a dog to hunt with. |

Thay may be color blind, but the can see shades, light vs. dark colors
However if you dogs approach gracefull like, rather than a bull in a china shop do you think that make a difference rather than color?
How about if the vest fits good, where a dog has the oppertunity to be a little gracefull like being able to duck there head and bend in the middle? whee the can navigate brush? Just sumpin to Thank about
