ok i hear allot of ppl say catch dogs are a dime a dozen but i disagree i know they are more available then jam up strike dogs but here's my thing allot of ppl claim they have catch dogs in the matter they catch the hog but what i consider is speed power and pride in catch dogs i don't want to see it re grip get flung off by a single hog and well mannered as far as docile til workin no jerkin arms off or barkin goin to the bay... does everyone think this way or does it not matter to y'all just curious

There are MANY different opinions on this one. Lots of bulldogs & a few curs will catch a hog & not let go. That being said, I understand the statement that catchdogs are a dime a dozen.
BUT....a dog that leads good, is good around other dogs & people, will catch & hold a hog & not let go for any reason, doesn't act up on a buggy, can turn the "KILL" switch off after being taken off a hog, gracefully manuvers through the woods, uses technique while catching, and can control a large hog single handedly when needed is HARD to find & worth a LOT more than a dime to me. But...that's just me.

I dont think anyone wants to loose a good cd, especially one that is trained well, great around the yard/house and quiet on the wheeler leads good etc. if you notice those kind are not up for sale very often and in my opinion b/c of the time and training it takes to get them to act that way. My good buddy muleman has an ab that wont catch anymore b/c of injuries that he will keep until he dies just b/c of what a good dog he was.
