gun was a gift ammo never use any dogs i raise vest and cut collars price at ugly dog (2 vests and 4 collars per hunt) tracking system around 3k in 2 systems and 11 collars food? for who? hobbles for what? knives, how many do you need? knife cheapest one you can find gas, i always have gas that is one of the many reasons no one hunts with me
What are you looking for here dude you want to know how much it costs to start? If you have to ask, then you cant afford it. If you dont have it you dont need it.
Really what ya looking for here that might help with the answers people give, doing a paper, report or something?

I've never added it all up and to tell you the truth would rather not know! I will not run my dogs without $ set aside just in case a problem arises whether it's with the vehicle or medical. You never know what could happen!

Everybodys expenses are going to vary, very much as you can see from some of the responses. How many dogs you hunt at one time and how many dogs you keep and feed. Most don't use guns, a few do.
Some things are assetts- Tracking systems, hunting trailers, four wheelers & other ATVs, Vests, Cut collars, ID tags & leads. You will hopefully get several years out of those things.
Then the Vets visits, Dog Feed, wormer, trips back and fourth to work dogs or hunt, will all change from month to month.

I agree with Ugly dog, I have never figured up what I have invested in it, scared to, But I view it as an investment so that I can justify it. Probably somewhere around 10K conservatively. But it goes up daily.

It can be as expensive as you want it to be. I love hunting and this is not too bad. I do not pay for deer lease but I had someone offer to cover my expenses to get hogs off their land. But I never keep track of hunting expenses or beer expenses. Do you keep track of how much you spend on women? Of course not because it is too much fun.

If i was to add up all the money is spend it wouldn't be fun anymore. Just another bill. I spend a hundred and seventeen dollars a month on dog food. i have two vest and six collars. Vest are 80 a piece and collars are twenty. But i have hade the same ones since i started hunting three years ago. twenty a month on wormer and two much on gas. I have a 85 honda that was given to me that i use to hunt. No tracking systems. just lay down a shirt and come back the next day. I have never lost a dog. Twenty dollars for a spaple gun and i get suture from a friend that works at a hospital. Really dont need a vet.
