Saturday night my daughter Tori and I joined Mike for a hunt at a new place Mike obtained. Mike's friend and camera man Don met us along the way along with a couple of guys from Dallas out for there first hog hunt with dogs. Special thanks to Don for the incredible pictures and to Mike for introducing me to this awesome sport that my whole family has fallen in love with. The night started pretty slow and rough things just did not click right. Don and I were walking the road with the dogs when Don jumped straight up and sideways while hollering "Rattlesnake!". I started grabbing dogs and snapping leads on them. Mike grabbed a chain and knocked the snake senseless then finished him with and expert knife throw the cut off his head. It was I guess 1 or 2 in the morning when Mikes dog Ellie started to bay. Before long the other dogs came to her side and the bay was on. The hog broke the bay once or twice then turned solid! We heard a dog yelp and Mike turned his catch dog loose and I sent mine right with her. We started to make our way through the brush, up a steep hillside when we came to an old rock wall. The bay was within 10 to 20 yards of the wall and the fight was on. I climbed over the wall and started to find the dogs when I heard the crashing of brush and here came this massive beast ripping from the cedars less than 10 yards from me with the largest cutters I had ever seen! I spun out of his way and yelled back to Mike, who had not come over the wall yet, "Cutters Mike, Big Cutters!". The catch dogs were hot on the hog and Mikes dog grabbed the left ear and mine grabbed the right. We got him hobbled and pulled down the hill, then loaded him in the truck. Ran him across the scales at 315 pounds. Here is the link for the pictures: http://s46.photobucket.com/albums/f150/runreddog/315%20lb%20Boar/

Thanks for the pics, man it looked like fun. Glad to see your daughter (?) hunting. My daughter is kinda interested but is still feeling it all out to see if she really likes it. Glad to see the young ones taking an interest in the sport.--Thanks again for the pics--Carlos.
