I do the "flip" on most up to 225#'s, bigger than that, I usually go with the "reach around" Sounds pretty gay, I know, but it works real well(especially by yourself) for the big guys that are hard to turn. Here's how you do it, once you've got his hind legs under control, let go with your right hand and reach under the rib cage to the front(left) diagonal ankle. Once you've got a good grip, just lean into him, and he'll roll onto that front shoulder that you've got. Proceed to switch hands(on that same front ankle, which should be on the bottom) and place your other hand on the rear(bottom) ankle, knee on neck. It's kind of a greco-roman wrestling move when done right Note: Make sure you leave a good bulldog on the whole time you attempt this, as they will sometimes get back up if you're not quick enough..... trust me on this

I'm 6 foot tall but still only a buck sixty so definitely not a big guy.
150 or lower I normally just get one front and one back leg, pick them up and throw them down.
On larger ones, I find that the farther you can get the hind end off the ground, the easier they go over. I also start by pushing with my left arm (weak side) until the pig starts staggering in that direction, then I pull on the left and throw it with the right.
On the really big ones, since there are always two of us, one person gets the hind legs and the other reaches under for the far front leg and pile drives it to the ground.
I guess that there are lots of ways to do it but I always find that the farther you get the ass off the ground, the easier the go down.

You should be scared of that front end If you try my way, watch your face(make sure to keep it low and back of the neck), that hog flips and he could take your ear off

see first you slip your knife in behind the front leg and then they usally fall right over. the method has quite a bit to do with many scenarios. does your bulldog pull or just hold. how wide is the hog (wider hogs are harder to flip). how tall is the hog (taller hogs are easier to flip). Personally I have never had a problem flipping a hog up to 275 by myself, but i am much bigger then you. Monteria flips hogs the same way I do. you grab both back legs and pick them up as high as you can then cross the back legs and roll him over. at this point the hog should be on his side. you continue to roll him to about a 45 degree angle and fold his back hind leg towards his body while putting you knee on his neck and grabbing a front leg. I will say i have never had a hog that could scare me that he was going to get up except one that was 400 plus and really wide. I didnt flip him by myself and even me and my partner could barely get him over. he didnt get up though. practice makes perfect.

Now you know why I let the guys flip the pigs and not me...most of the pigs are bigger than me! But I`m a small female. reburn is as tall as a wookie !!!
