Friday I went out to check on some cows and took the dogs with me just to get them off the chain. As I went by a patch of woods my catch dog who was running up ahead of me made a sharp turn and took off into the woods. I killed the 4 wheeler and all I could hear was one dog baying. When I got there the dogs had a 200+ lb. boar caught in a creek. The only dog that wasn't caught was all I could hear. I couldn't get him flipped, so I tied him off to a tree by a back leg and  stuck him with my pocket knife several times. He wasn't dying quick enough and was cutting dogs so I ran back to the 4 wheeler and got a gun and shot him. I just had my phone with me and don't know if I can get any of the pics from the phone onto the computer to post. I was proud of my dogs, after not much luck they sure tore this one up. The boar didn't have big teeth, probably a little over an inch, but he sure did use them. It was the first time one little pit gyp had ever been on a hog and she got cut 4 times pretty bad. I sewed her up as best I could and she's doing ok now, just real sore. All the dogs got cut somewhere, but nothing else bad at all. That was my first boar I've caught and by myself too. When my pups get started they do good, I just need one dog that will start to bay and they will figure it out quick. Just thought I'd share my story, hope to have more after the dogs get healed up!

Sound like a good day! I know when I come home all muddy and bloody that means I had fun. I bet if the dogs could talk they would be saying how much fun they had.
