Well I haven't hunted in about a week and I've been having DT's. All my buddys are working. So I get up this morning about 8 oclock and load some dogs. My old dog Dualy and bulldog Cheif. Loaded some pups to take to the my pen whenI was done. Get to the woods about 9 oclock. Turn Dualy loose and head toward hardwood bottom. He heads on way and gos about 300 yards and I see him coming back on the Garmin. Comes out by me headed the other way. Watching him on the Garmin he gets to about 600 yards and is back closer to the truck. I go back to the 4 wheeler and head back to the truck. When I get to the truck he is 350 yards from me. Wait a few minutes and starts baying. So I head that way with my bulldog, single barrel shotgun with some 00 buckshot, and my knife. I was prepared for the worst in this area cause the people that see these hogs always say their big. I get to about 50 yards from bay and send in Cheif. At this point I am in a bout 3 year old cutover. With no trees big enough to climb. I here Cheif hit the hog and then all kind of ruccus starts. It is more than one hog. So I stop about 10 yards away and see big hog coming toward me. I throw up to shoot it but it turns a goes back to beat up my dogs some more. I holler a couple times and here the hog leave. So I go on in to where they have the hog caught. It is a biggun to. All I could see was teeth. I couldn't get the hog down to tie so I just knifed him. I think I was more worried about that other big boy coming back. Anyways I get my dogs to water and none is cut. Don't think the hog could cut cause his teeth curled back to his jaw. Got to the truck and put dogs up. Then thatsa when the work started getting this sucker out of the woods. Anyways good hunt to be by myself. Got a few pics with my phone. 4 1/2" tusk and weighed 270 pounds. Scale say 284 minus 14 for commalong.
