Me and my wife have been married for 7 years, and finally talked her in to going hog hunting with me. She is not really the hunting type, so im looking for any helpful pointers in making this a good trip for her, other than being patient and keeping my mouth shut. Any help would be much appreciated.

Yeah make sure you give her a lead or something to make her feel like you need her to help I take my ol lady and she actually tied her first hog the other day I also have her take her camera and take pics of everything. But I would try in make it as exciting as possible.

See if you can get another hunting buddy to go with yaw and see if he can get his wife to go too. My wife is the same way your wife is, she aint much of the huntn type either and i tried her on hog huntn and it was like takin a todler to the woods. not sayn your wife will be that way but i would leave her at . good luck with yaws hunt and hope she ends out bein a good huntn buddy

Took her deer hunting twice first trip we didnt see anything but she wasnt exactly quiet. Second trip seen a doe she got excited and scared it of and i got pissed. Ive gained alot more patience since and think i would actually enjoy her going since i hunt alone alot, when my brother cant tag alone.

It is like taking a small child. Patience, do not yell no matter what, make it fun for her. My wife is not a hunter either. I took Wyatt (my 5 yr old) on a deer hunt. I had him sit so he could see me and told him where I was. I bow hunt in a ghillie suit and I am hard to see. As the sun was going down I was in the shadows. The deer came out and I was at full draw just waiting for the deer to put their heads down. Then it came "Daaaaaaaaddyyyyyyyyyy!" He could not see me and got scared. But he was behind me so the deer were looking my direction and I was in an awesome hiding spot. If I tried to shoot the deer would jump and I would miss. If I moved I would give up my prime spot. I let the bow down and turned around. Because my son is more important. I was very mad at the time and tried to hold it back. But I fussed about a messed up hunt. He was very sorry and apologized. I told him that I forgave him before we got back to the truck but he would hear about it for a long time. I made it a bonding moment. Now he loves to go with me as much as possible. My wife now says she would like to go watch the dogs work when I get an atv. I remember that I love hunting but I love my family more. If my family likes hunting I will get to hunt even more!
