The question I have is will a cut collar slow down or hinder a cur dogs movement. The reason I am asking is that my BMC Thor is gritty as they come and I usually have a 4'' Ugly Dog cut collar on him but I thought it might be slowing him down so I left it off of him the other night and he got three good cuts in the neck area and I know if I had the cut collar on him that would not have happened. So from now on Thor will be wearing a cut collar I just wanted some of yalls opinions.

I have a bmc that does not like tight or stiff collars he will stand by us and wont go out, i took the collar off when he did that and he immediately went off and hunted for the rest of the day well. I dont like running him without a collar but i recently got me an ugly dog collar that is flexible enough to not give him any discomfort but will also give him the protection he needs. I do believe it depends on the collar.

Personally I have never had a dog that hunted any different with a cut collar or without.  But I can tell u this, you just dont realize sometimes how they are worth their weight in gold.  My yellow gyp got hit the other day and i wouldnt have known it if it were not for the tracking collar housing being busted.  I'll take a busted tracking collar cause it aint gonna cost me a thousand dollars to buy another collar.  JMO
