While i'm out saving the city from hogs... they're tearing up my yard in the country!!! Even rooting within 20 yards of my dogs!!! I wondered why they were raising hell this morning. Grin

I can be down there tomorrow. $1000 per day. My dogs will kill and eat most of them but we will get them all.

I guess it's revenge. Shocked  I've been here 10 years and never had hogs come up in the yard. They've always been out back in the woods, but never came up around the house.. I may have to be late for work in the morning and turn a couple of puppies loose if they come back. Grin

Mike,

I'm pretty sure that rooting 20 yds from your dogs is the hog equivalent of walking up and shooting your dogs the finger!

You should rig the yard with a trip wire.  When the hogs hit it, it opens Cliffords kennel.  That would teach 'em!

What town is San Jacinto County?   I have about 40 dogs in a dirt floor kennels down at the ranch in Bee County, during the drought the hogs were coming up and banging the dog self feeders and then going to the dog poop pile and second harvesting eek!!!!  It was  so bad I finally turned a cow pen into a giant hog trap, I been keeping around 20 to 50 in it ever since then, it draws in hogs all the time who come outside and lay down next to all of the perty sows inside!!!  i have one of those Blackwell header panels on the front of it and have to wire it shut due to to many expensive corn vaccum cleaner hogs trying to get  inside it, every ranch around was the same, tons of damage and hogs rooting up ranch hands carpet grass and gardens during the drought.

If you turned loose on those hog theifs in your yard is it safe to run them or you close to other houses or a major hiway, there was tv article a while back about hogs in Corpus and Rockport coming into town for carpet grass buffet.

I agree with Mr Parker.

You know Mike,

they say that a manicured yard is over rated, expensive, and not environmentally friendly (not GREEN) due to the machinery, man hours, and over all expenses involved in maintaining them.

The trend in lawns these days is moving to "natural". I believe your yard is about as Natural looking as a SE Texas yard can be now! You Sir are a trend setter. Cheesy
