Lost one hell of a catch dog yesterday.
Caught three decent boars all about 150#. On the third hog I turned loose my bulldog allong w/ a rookie bulldog pretty close to the bay. When I caught the hog in the edge of the river, my dog wasnt there. Listened, looked and called him. Have went back several more times looking w/ no results. It was verry strange how he dissapeared, I am pretty confident it was only one hog. I am also confident he made it to the bay and caught. The only thing I can think of is that he drowned in the river or was snagged by a gator. I dont like loosing a dog but it really gets me not to find the body or know what happened.
CD was a little mussled up red nose about 3 years old. Was a good dog on the yard that my son enjoyed playing around with. Was the kind of dog I wouldnt hessitate to send on a bull elaphant, knowing he would be swinging when you got there. He was the kind of dog you didnt mind bragging on because you knew he could do it. He was a joy to hunt with and one heck of a catch dog. Caught a lot of bad boars with him in the two years I owned him. He will most deffinately be missed.
On the up side, the guys on that place are in the woods about every day here lately preparing for deer season, so if he is alive he has a good chance of turning up. I will also continue to look for him, however I feel that something happened to him.

We all as hunters know all too well the feeling of losing a dog ,but its doublely worst when you can 't find its body to give your buddy a desent send off .Hopefully he will turn up alive in the next few days .Good luck .

Sorry to hear about that it does sound like it could have possibly been a gator.
