Best Brand of Cutvest

I am looking on buying a new cut vest my boarbuster is getting worn out had it for six years it sthe best ive ever had and was wondering what yall think is the best one also if any of you have any used cut vest that are still in good shape give me an email at hog.hunter13@yahoo.com i might be interested in buying it.  I can't say what is the best, but if you got 6 years out of a vest, and you were pleased with it, I would be inclined to buy the same vest again, if it is still available.

I happen to have a couple used vests for sale if you are interested. Here is a picture of one on the bulldog to the right. It is an X-Large Uglydog vest


The other vest fit on a small pit. and has some tears in the sleeves.

i think the tejas outdoors vest is a real good choice,, theyre in alto, texas,, you can take your dog in and they will measure him and they make the vest while your are there..

The kevlar vest from Ugly Dog Ranch is the way to go.

Very light-weight and hasn't been cut through once.

I like the uglydog vest myself mine has never been cut through and has caught lots of hogs.

I have hunted with my dad since i was 4 im telling you ive been hunting more than most when i was 8-10 me and my dad hunted 5 days a week me and him just me and him we both flipped it when i was ten we caught a six hundred and seventy pounder with 4 inch tusks on each side it killed 4 dogs i kinda know alot. Not to brag or anything.

ive got one ugly dog and 3 p&p p&ps are super tuff and so are the ugly dog i think its just kinda personal preference, and if u hunt so much we ought to go hunting sum time

I could probbably get a pic of it it was defiantly wild it had a long snout and a long black tail he was just living near a peanut feild but being big didnt stop him he could move as easy as any hog he defiantly didnt just lay there but ill try and get a pic we dont ussually take pics. hey TT where you live would like to go just went tonight and caught two 150lb boars.

well I hate to bust ya'lls bubble but anything can happen when you have room for human or animal error. We use the ugly dog vest and that last hog I posted cut through 2 out of 3 vest. We were glad to have them on the dogs and will still use them. I love to read these tales of course I'm still learning and if the good lord is willing i'll hunt and enjoy it another 60 years.

I have used a few different types of cutvests. I have 2 valley creek cut vest( bought new from a guy who never used em). I had an ugly dog cut vest (recently lost with a bulldog). I have two vest that I have and had that I dont know who made em. And I have a vest from X-treme outdoors that I traded for.


The x-treme outdoor vest is on top. It has the chest plate and side plates and high bib. It offers alot of protection ,but lacks in movement. My catchdogs seem to run slower and weirder when wearing it. I keep it for a back-up. I also had to take a hot-nail and put holes in the straps. Must have been a honest mistake.

The next two vest are the valley creek vests. They seem to me like they are built alot like the ugly dog vest. I am running one of these on one of my catchdogs now, since I lost my uglydog vest.

My ugly dog vest I really liked, fit my dog well and was pretty durable. My dogs caught quite a few hogs wearing it. I did have to take it to a saddle shop once and have it re-sewn where a panel had started coming off after my dog caught a 250 plus pound hog, but it took alot of abuse before that.

The bottom vest on the top picture, I got from HDCURS/ when I bought a catchdog. It is a lighter vest. Moves well and I really like the rivet holes. I think it keeps the dog cooller in the summer. I dont know who makes it ,but I would like to see the rivet holes with an ugly dog/valley creek style of vest.(Hint,Hint )



This vest is one that I traded for the X-treme outdoor vest. I should have kept it. It took alot of abuse and was well put together. It fit my dog well. I dont know who makes it.

the bottom vest is made by houston leather and dog supplies in waurika ok. they have just about everything you need for hog hunting they are farely close to me so thats were i get most of my stuff i have phone number and adress if any body is interested
