I had the day off so I picked the kids up from school. We were coming down the driveway and my daughter says "Dad, is that a hog?" Sure enough, there was one out in the horse pasture. I went in and grabbed my rifle and they grabbed momma to come see. I watched it through my scope for a while, it finally spooked and ran off into the woods. This would be a good set up for the young dogs since I've only hunted a couple of times in the past few weeks... I know, i've been slacking. Got Hunter, Striker and Clifford collared up and cut the pups loose. They blew in past where the hog crossed and made a 400 yard loop toward the back. Finally came back in and picked up it's track, had it bayed in a couple of minutes. Got it caught and went ahead and killed it. It was a young boar that was real, real poor... that might explain why he was out in the middle of the day and not scared of much.

Ha ha... that's why I had to put the shock on there cause of him. It was good for him today because it will probably be his last hog till the cool weather comes back. He's pushing 7 1/2 and has heat stroked on me four times over the years... gonna give him a break this summer.

Good job bud, I know Clifford was happy to seal the deal on that one and get some pent up anxiety out haha.  I am telling you though, today was hot and they are forcasting several days next week at or over 90.  I really really hate the summer time  Angry
