Howzit guys! I haven't started a topic here in awhile and as I was on another board I came across a thread about someone getting a nice, new & bright headlight which brought to mind something I have been told on a few occasions about having a light mounted on your forehead and when approaching a hog that they will rush the light. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this as I have seen quite  a few of you prefer to run at night due to the heat.

just depends on how bad he thinks he is, answer is yes some do come to the light if they are not bluffing, if you carrying a light you throw the light away from you and he will usually go at the light and miss you.
Since using the LED lights I have not had this problem.

LOL last monday the kids that went with me got a taste of that. Walked up to the bay the dogs had him sat down hard. I told them to turn off their lights and walk in behind me well one decided to take it upon himself and take another route. I usually try to walk in using the wind in my favor because I didn't take a catchdog that night due to them being on the injured reserve. He walked in with the wind to his back, light drawn and as soon as he got a couple of feet from that hog he busted and ran right into his knee knocking him down the dogs in hot pursuit, biting at the hind end ran right over him also. I was rolling on the ground. Two other times have had them run into the bumper of the truck with the lights on. For the most part yes I have seen it on many occations and would recomend without catchdogs to use precaution when going into a bay with lights.

Took a kid hunting with us for his first time and the dogs stuck a good boar with some pretty good cutters. Got to the bay next to a water tank and the kid was between myself and my huntin partner. The dog saw his light and came all out at that light. Luckly the kid didnt get hurt. There were no tree's anywhere for him to go and he jumped at the right time for the hog to go betwen his legs. Thats the first hog that we ended up shooting, and one reason that I try to carry a pistol with me on hunts.
