Big ol Sow

Yesterday was a pretty good day. Started off bright and early with bryant and some of his buddies. I definantly had a good time seeing their dogs get it done. We got a small boar. Then yesterday evening, I went to a place where a local rancher has been seein hogs for the last couple of days. I started my dogs off along a creek and walked in a little ways to look for sign. My buddy called me and said there were hogs in the open pasture about 500 or 600 yards away. I walked along the edge of the woods getting closer until my ol gyp hit the track about probally 300 yards away. I got to watch her and my other gyp close in on the hogs in the wide open. They bayed up, and suprisingly the hogs stayed for a minute or so(thought I was goin to get lucky..lol) ,but then broke and ran to the woods. They got the hog stopped and bayed up about 100 yards in a dryed up creek bed. We cut my 2 bulldogs loose(one of which was the AB I got from HDCURS, who was already hit a couple of times when I hunted in morning) and they held till we got there. It took us about a hour to figure out how and get her out of the woods. Me and two other good size fellows couldnt even get her off the ground. I am going to take her and sale her tomorrow, so I will get a weight then. But until then, anyone want to take a guess?

Thats a good hog there, Richard!  I guess the AB was all gamed up and ready for more action after yesterday morning.

We need to go back and get those that we saw run by on the way to the bay!  Man, it got hot quick yesterday!

She ended up dying in a holding pen sometime between last night and this morning. So I went ahead and strung her up on a hanging scale(tough work w/only a come-along) She went 376lbs. She will be 400 lbs in a month or so Got a feeling I am going to be doin some good coyote hunting the next couple of nights.

  Dang !! I missed her by a long shot for somebody who catches as many hogs as i do thats pretty bad . Her size really shows in the hanging pic and the one in the back of the pickup.
