American Home Shield Rip Off!!

I want to warn everyone about this home warranty company, and how they will rip you off. I have been a customer of American Home Shield for at least 3yrs. I've had their home warranty and paid the fee each year. I have never made a claim on it.

Well, today my well pump had a problem so I called them. I had zero water pressure, and the pump was running. So, it was a bit of an emergency and had to be handled today. The AHS rep said they could find no company close by and sent me an email authorizing me to contract with a local company. In the email they had several conditions for reimbursement.

I called a local company who sent someone right out. I explained that I had a home warranty and who the warranty was with. They right away told me they had had severe problems with AHS paying anyone on a claim. Well, they were right.

The technician had to replaced the air relief valve and re-prime the pump, and we were back in business. Total charge was 139.50. We call AHS to get the authorization number for the invoice. The AHS rep said that since the valve was not directly connected to the pump itself that they would not cover the cost, and I was out of luck. The technician explained to the AHS rep that it was all connected and part of the system. Still no go.

So, I've been paying 500 a year for 3 years for nothing. Monday morning I will be cancelling their coverage and filing a complaint with the BBB. My advice, STAY AWAY FROM AMERICAN HOME SHIELD.
