Idk any lines in particular  but are you talkin about after yout flip the hog or while he is still standing

Same thing. Some catch dogs hold the ear and some fight the ear. If they fight it it tears up the ear and they waste their energy and over heat sooner.

I dont know for sure but we ran Carver dogs or the ol timers did and they were anchors.That was way back when in San Augustine TX.

Except for my 1/2 Lacy, ours are all short, wide, Carver looking pits and we will not keep one that fights the hog. They just catch an ear and lay down like a dead weight. They never try to stand with the hog or shake their heads.
