Well I finally got a chance to take out my dog Precious for her first taste of hunting. She is a Dogo/AB mix I got from Bar M at one of the hog bays in Bremond last summer. She is about 10 months old and weighs in around 80lbs. We weren't sure how she would respond so we introduced her slowly and she showed us what she was made of. Luckily we caught 2 pigs that were a good size for her to learn on and had some other great dogs there to show her the way.

This is the first catch of the night. She seemed reluctant to engage at first but was very curious as to what was going on. After a couple of minutes she decided she wanted part of the action as well. Not very good placement with the bite but she bit hard and had to be broken off. She later proved to be a fast learner.

This is the second catch of the night. Once again she seemed hesitant to engage but did a great job once she did. Since it was smaller than the first and she had a much better bite we thought we would see how she could do by herself. All the other dogs were called off and the pigs hind legs were released. She did an excellent job handling the pig herself and kept it pinned down the whole time.

A special thanks goes out to NThoghunter for allowing me to bring her along for the trip and providing another great hunting experience.
