With school fixing to start up for the kids, and all the schedule filling activities that go along with the beginning of the school year, we decided to get the kids out for a day of fun.

Our hunting party consisted of the following.
Mike, Angel, and their daughter Brooke

Jason and his son Wade

Mandi and our daughters Taylor and Kailey

The plan was to take the kids out Sunday morning, catch a huge boar, you know, one for the record books Grin, then spend the afternoon having a cookout and fishing.

We turned out at about 7:00, the weather was nice and cool for August. Dogs were hunting nicely, and struck a hog about 20 minutes into the hunt. Hog broke, and must have smoked the dogs. We picked them up further into the property, and continued to hunt. Very little sign for a place that is usually covered up in hogs. When it finally warmed up, we decided to head back to the trucks. We did not catch any hogs , but the kids had fun riding/driving the four wheelers at least.  Next on the agenda... food and fishing...

We loaded up, and headed to Jason(JML) and Laura's house, the fired up the pit and cooked some burgers, while the kids did some fishing, and playing with the pet pig and other pets.

Here are some pics of the kids
Brooke and Tayloe

Kailey and Tyson

Jason and Wade  - somebody should tell Jason that the shades he is sporting work better when they cover your eyes. Grin

Taylor and Brooke - navigating through some rough terrain Wink

Angel and Smiley

Mike and Angel - thanks for the hunting invite

Jason and Laura - thanks for the great burgers and the fishing

Next time we will do this in Centerville and plan it for a weekend of hunting, fishing, and four wheeling.

We had a good time. I know the kids enjoyed it... rode about 15 miles on the 4-wheelers.

Even got to listen to a bay for a few minutes. Grin
