Well we made a round last Sat. me, my budddy and my little boy. Got there about 6:00 am  and didnt even have the dogs collared up yet and while we was ridin the road seen 5 cross.  They crossed about 500 yards from us so I just pulled over and put the collars on em.. Got down there and turned out the dogs, it didnt take long for them to take the track and they fell bayed about 380 yards off the road.  It was some beautiful woods and I just knew I was going to be able to get some good pictures, WRONG.  We crossed 3 little creeks and when I topped the other ridge the dogs had caught one.  Well they ended up catchin him in a Briar thicket full of Poison Ivy... I had to leave my little boy in the creek so he wouldnt get covered with it, he wasnt happy about that, briars dont bother him as much as they bother me, guess I am just gettin ole.. Any way stuck this one and pulled the dogs off and headed home so the meat wouldnt spoil.. it dont take long this time of the yr..

Man that would have made me mad too if my dad made me sit in a creek while a bay was going on Smiley. The poison oak seem bad this year, Ive had it 3 time the last month or so it will clear up, I go hunting get it again. Id rather have PO then chiggers though!

I'd rather have a hundred chiggers than dadgum poison ivy!!  Sure is hard to stay out of this time of year.  I slipped the other day at the river's edge, slid down the bank covered with poison ivy and dropped about 8 feet to the water.  Good thing it wasn't more than waste deep!!  Also good thing I had 2 good buddies to drag me out of the river and insurance to cover the cortizone shot!!

Good hunt!!  Its always nice getting the kiddos involved.
