The TDHA has been working on the planning stages of your 2009 Hog Hunting Contest, We are getting down to the wire, as only 4 months away now.

I hope most of you all will attend the Expo and particiapte in this contest again this year.

There are some changes being made to the rules and if anyone would like to contribute please post up your comments and suggestions.

We will be needing plenty of volunteers again in many areas as manning the TDHA booth, help with the wigh-in, and again in the cleaning station.

We were also had the discussion of possibly adding a Skinning Contest this year. This may draw sme participants that are not able to hunt. We would also like to have comments and suggestions in the this topic.

As you may have heard the prizes are growing along with the proffesionalism of this contest/expo.
The Board of director has decided in addition to cash prizes to also give away four Champion Hog Hunter belt buckles to the four members of the first place team.

To provide the biggest and best ever Hog Dog Hunting Tournament, this requires Sponsors and donations. If you as a n individual or a business you know of would like support this great cause, plus get a Tax Deduction please let us know. As the TDha is taking extra steps to better promote this years Sponsor with a Huge Banner listing all these sponsors, our new Awesome website which is under construction, I have seen a sneak peak and it looks Top Notch, will get recognized there as well along with a few more areas of promotion for our generous sponsors.

So if you can help in any of these ways please post up or contact one of your Board Of Directors or one the TDHA Commitee Advisors.

THANK YOU!
PLEASE ADD YOUR COMMENTS TO THIS POST ON TDHA MESSAGE BOARD herehttp://thenewtdha.com/smf1.5/index.php?topic=178.0

Kicking off the Planning Stages for TDHA Hog Hunting Contest to benefit the Hungry
ALL DONATIONS/SPONSORSHIPS ARE TAX DEDUCTABLE, (for all you business Owners, that need a last minute tax deduction for 2008 or planning where to get those deductions for next year).

The more money brought in to the contest allows for a better prizes drawing more entries, meaning more meat brought in to feed the needy.
It also helps more people see the positive impact hunters can have on a community. It is an all around win-win situation, but takes alot of volunteers, time and donations to make it all happen.

For More Info. on how to Sponsor, to Join the TDHA, to Volunteer or get Entry forms visit www.tdha.org

AWESOME dabutcher!!!  We need everyone we can get to help out.  We will have knives, box cutters with replaceable blades, and some sharpeners there on sight but if you want to bring your own tools, you are more than welcome to do so.  It is usually balls to the wall in there so you will have to keep up with them.  Grin

hey guys if anyone can help me id really appreciate it, for some reason i cannot get a printable sign-up sheet on my computer and ive been tryin  to enter the contest for the last couple weeks, i dont want it to be to late. Also this is my first year hunting this contest and i have 2 main concerns 1st i live about 4 hours away from where the expo will be and i need to know if i have to be there for opening ceremony or if i can stay in bmt and start hunting at the approved time and 2nd being that i live so far away my main concern is that if we catch hogs friday night and saturday and kill em im worried that the meat will spoil so my idea was to keep all the hogs alive and in a cattle trailor and drive em there live and find somewhere to humanely dispatch em so that the meat doesnt go bad. If anyone can be of any help id greatly appreciate it thanks guys and good luck!

Justin, you do not have to be there friday evening, just need to contact an official to get the final rule, which will be announced at the beginning of the tournament.
You can keep the hogs alive, as long as they are caught within the time frame of the hunt, and then field dress them before weigh-in.
A lie detector test will be given to the winning team to ensure that there is no unfair advantage.

Both of these topics have been discussed on www.thenewtdha.org .

Hope someone else can help you out with the printable version of the sign in sheet.

Any individuals or teams found guilty of violating any Texas Game Laws during this contest will be disqualified.

No disorderly conduct, such as cursing, fighting, or rude behavior will be tolerated at the sign-in or weigh-in.

Any Violation of these rules will result in the entire team being disqualified and the individual(s) involved will be removed from the premises. Violation of the rules can also result in banning the individual(s) from future TDHA sponsored events as well as from the organization.

All protests must be in writing to Douglas Mason, TDHA President and Protest Committee Chair, and must be made immediately after the occasion arises for protest. The protest committee will then be contacted. All decisions of the protest committee are final!
