I've seen 10 dogs at a bay once. Wasn't very happy about it. Most I've ever done is the pic of my avatar. It was 3 older dogs and 3 puppies in training. Usually we have 2 maybe 3 on the ground now the puppies are grown.

One evening we bayed a boar hog in a blow down and there was a few us together hunting and if I am not mistaken there was 8 dogs baying that hog.  I have seen 5-6 many times, wish I had some pics to share of those  Undecided

All the guys ive hunted wih run rough dogs, so Ive never seen a bay with more than 3 dogs.

But Id like to add to this post if you don't mind. Has anyone ever heard or seen their "catch any hog" catch dog baying before?

I always joke about wanting to hear my catchdog bark, cause it would have to be a good one.

JohnF and I usually have 3-4 dogs each on the ground when we hunt togther and we dont get many bays either. Usually the BMC catch an ear each and the rest start pulling pork.. started stopping way more hogs this way in the past couple years and not as many make it to far.

Same here. I have a YBMC male and a half ridgeback that if I run togeather catch just about every hog they find no matter what size. They get injured some, but not many hogs get to far either. That is the type of dogs I prefer to run. If you hear them baying( can not remember the last time that happened) then you better send in the catch for sure LOL.

Highwater, We had just caught a sow and the dogs rolled off and caught a red boar, we caught him and cut him, then the old plott(farthest to the right) rolled off and bayed him,, he didnt move much but he eased off into the creek....

and thanks for the compliments, only two of them dogs still alive. the hog was around 330lbs and had 5 3/4 inches hanging out.

good boar

330 barr

boar hog

here are few that have 5 or 6 dogs in it... the largest I have ever been fortunate to see was 11 cur dogs on one big, bad boar.. we were hosting a hunt for 2 New Orleans Saints players and it was pretty dry and hot so we had a pack of 6 going one direction and the other 5 going another.. it was on around 10 am when Ol Son, a plott hound no longer with us, sounded off and brought all the dogs together. We were waiting trying to get the players back from their dang breakfast break.. He had already busted the bay 3 times and our dog count went from 11 to just 4 still baying hard, everything else cut-down and quit.. Big E and I finally decided enough and we sent the cd and got it done... 375# boar hog, biggest to date

I haven't seen more then one dog bay in a long time. It has to be a rank hog to have that happen and when another one shows up it's a done deal.  Grin
