For you fellers that have been doin it longer than me, I have a question.  From all the different breeds of hog dogs from catahoulas, b/m,plotts,hounds,jags,mountain curs, dogos, pits, and AB/s, what breed seems to mature faster than others.. Or does it have anything to do with the breed, or maybe it is the dog itself or the line they come out of?

not sure exactly if there is alot of difference amongst the breeds you guys use over there but i have noticed as a general rule that the larger the breed the longer it takes for them to mature and strart working too. anything with bull blood in it  seems to kick off early too.

Not sure if breeds have anything to do with it.  But my bmc dogs start to mature around 2 yrs usually.  Every jagd I ever had matured way faster!  Most were hunting in the woods before they were even 1 yr

From what I've seen, generally speaking, lacy's and dogo's are late bloomers.
