I went out today at about 12 to check on the dogs and give them some water, all of them was just fine. Judy was walkin around actin normal comin up to the fence to me like always. at 2 30 my girlfriend came home and said wheres judy? i said probably got out of her kennel again, she loved escapin and she would escape anyway possible, i had fence on the sides, top, and bottom and she still found away to sneak out and come to the door until i opened it lol so i went outside yelled judy and she didnt come runnin like usual so we decided to drive around and see if we saw her and i didnt, so as i was pullin in the drive way i saw her layin down where she use to be on her chain at, i yelled for her and she didnt respond, so i went over there to see what was goin on and i noticed her back legs were just straight back she never laid like that i tried to move her and realized she was paralyzed from behind her front legs and back, so i stepped back and said her name and no respnse she was still alive so i screamed her name and she jerked her head around and thats when i realized she had gone completely blind as well, so i was headed to my parents house to get my .22 when one of my buddies called me and said judy was dead. im not sure how she died. but this all happened in about a 2 hour span. this is the first dog i have lost since i started hog hunting and it is rough she was only a year and half but she was one hell of a catch dog

Sudden onset of paralysis and blindness sounds like a potential poisoning to me. Is there a chance that she got into something or that a neighbor didn't like having a bully around?
I'm sorry for your loss.

She had to have gotten into some poison. I lost a dog like that. It was one of the most heartbreaking things to watch as my dog ran around the yard dragging her hind legs in circles and whining. The neighbors had put out rat poison and she must have ate it.
Very tough loss for you.

You might also want to consider a snake bite.....
I do not know where you live but is there a chance of her being bitten by a Coral Snake, Cane Break Rattle Snake or Timber Rattler? All three of those carry a Neurotoxin which would cause the neurological symptoms that you described.
The copperhead and the Western Diamondback Rattlesnake carry a hemorrhagic or hemotoxin which would not produce the same symptoms.
Assuming that it were a snake bite, It could also have been a Water Moccasin. Though the Water Moccasin does not carry a true neurotoxin, its venom does have strong neurotoxic traits which have proven to produce neurological symptoms in smaller animals including dogs.
Just a thought, I hope that you find out for sure.

yeah steve im really tryin to find out what is was just to make sure it doesnt happen again we have looked all over the place to see if we could find anything and i havent, im probably goin to go talk to my neighbors and she if she came over to there house durin that time. normally when she would get out she would just run up to the door and wait for me or run over to the truck and wait there, when she went to lay by the truck that meant she was ready to go hunting lol, its hard losing a catch dog just cause you spend more time with your catchdogs than any other dogs. my other dogs i dont let out of their kennels unless its time to go hunting, with judy i let her out and run around, rode around with us and when we hunt rode the 4 wheeler with me the whole time.
