Boarninja texted me this pic. After talking to him briefly on his way to another bay, he gave me the details. Wormydog, Ty Angel, and the Boarninja are on a South Texas hog hunt. They have caught 4 or 5 boars, a few sows, ang this barr. Alan said on the scales gutted he went 168#'s. Using a leatherman handy tool as a ruler, they were able to measure his teeth. 3 1/4" was the magic number. They were all having a good time, when Alan said he had to go because they were baying another one.

Hey Josh! Thanks for understanding why I had to rush you off the phone! lol We put another decent boar at the end of about a one mile race after I got off the phone with you. We had a great weekend and are completely worn out from hunting in the heat of South Texas. I'm sure we will put together another thread and post some pictures from our weekend pending on what survived out of every bodies wet cameras from swimming around in ponds with dogs and hogs!lol I will call you later and give you the details about those trashy, counterfeit dogs the other guys brought with them.

I sure appreciate the comments and Cutter Bay Kennels for posting the picture. We sure had a blast! I got to see some sure enough hog dogs work over the weekend along with some outstanding pup prospects. We had a pup hunt our 1st day out and they performed outstandingly in that nasty heat. I admitted last year that you South Texas hog hunters have to be dang tuff to hunt there year around. My hat is off to you fellers again. I was thinking about you last night while my wife was pulling cactus thorns out of my sides, back, arms, neck, and butt! That is the honest truth! I am hoping we will pool a few of the better pictures on a thread pretty soon. I was disappointed in the few that I took and have been instructed by my son (who couldn’t go due to work) that I needed to tighten up and get better pics in the future. Here is a cell phone pic of the same barr after we skinned the head out. Not to bad but the tips were broke off a little.

Nice hog. Where were abouts were you hunting down here? We run strickly at night due to the heat. However we close down our hunting come deer season. No use getting good dogs shot due to D.A's from the city shooting dogs because they were "chaseing" their hogs and deer LOL.

You suspected right Chris. Hunting all night is what we would rather do but we cant talk the folks in charge in to it. Our number one priority is the dogs and we rotated them out pretty good but we did have a few get a little to hot.

LOL I know what you mean BoarNinja. There are a lot of hogs in that area. I know some folks that used to hunt that way before they got of hunting.

Thanks Jesse. Means something coming from a man that seems to catch hogs like this almost daily!lol I hunted with T. Angle, Scooter Wheeler, Sidney Oliver, and Wormy Dog Kennels. Non of us are used to hunting that far SouthWest. It was 104 there today. I sure am glad we had a good breeze down there all weekend. We hunted for the Barrier's on the Indian Mound Ranch. I think we have them talked into a late Winter hunt next year but we will see how it works out.
