Author Topic: More Sausage making 06-12-10 & New Smokehouse  (Read 1325 times)

   Well since we made the last batch of sausage back in January I have put a few hogs in the freezer and my dad built a smokehouse so we can smoke large quantities of sausage or a whole pig, deer or whatever.  So we all got together again and took hog out of the freezer and deboned them and cut it all up and ground it and made 140 lbs of smoked sausage and 40 lbs of patttie sausage .  Then we fired up the new smokehouse and hung the link sausage and smoked it overnight .  Turned out real good .  Heres a few pictures of the Smokehouse my Dad made.

That is a fine set up.  I wish I knew more about smoke houses.  Thanks for the inspiration.  I'll you could sell those houses like hot cakes.  What kind of wood do you build the house out of?
