So last year I made Mandi a Pink Ostrich cut collar for her dog Lizzie. As can be seen here.  Well, this year for her birthday she said she wanted a Pink Kevlar Cut Vest for her catch dog Tater. A couple years ago, I purchased a Devastator vest from Ugly Dog Ranch, and I have been very pleased with the service it has given me. So it was decided to go with another Devastator style vest, with a tilt toward Mandi's style.... I called up Mrs Weiser at UDR and told her what my request was. She explained that they used two different seamstresses, and the one that makes the Devastator did not have any pink fabric, but the other seamstress did. When I explained that the vest was for Mandi, and that come hell or high water, I had to produce a pink Devastator, Mrs Weiser pulled one out of her hat. She had one seamstess send her the fabric, then she sent it to the other seamstress, who built it to Taters specs. He needed 4" of length removed from the body, then added 4" to the over the shoulder buckle/ strap. The new vest came in today, now I just need to get it to the upholstery shop to have our phone numbers embroidered into the side of the vest, and the superhero patch sewn into the chest. Come on get the pink fabric for all of them. My wife said I have to put pink on the girl dogs. She says they may be dogs but they are still girls. So I will only be getting vests that are available in pink.

Had to take the vest to the embroidery shop today. They said it will not be ready until July 10th or so. After that it goes to the upholstery shop to have the superhero and reward patches installed. I think Mandi likes it... |
