all this talk about snakes got me to thinkin, what is your favorite snake boot, as far as brand, durability, dryness, comfort.........?
 I am due for a new pair and looking for a different brand, that is more durable, and 100% dryness a must.  i am kinda leaning toward a danner snake boot. they are pretty expensive but if they will keep my feet dry, and last more than a couple months, i dont mind spendin the extra money. 
 So whats yall's opinion?

I forgot the brand but they are at Carter's Country leather bottom and green on the top. I worry more about the thorns. But I could walk in them all day!

You're right on the money tnhillbilly.....I bought my first pair of Danners this past year.....best boot I've ever worn bar none. Yep, they are expensive but worth every penny I say. They will keep your feet dry, and as you stated....that's paramount.

I found them. They are the Chippewa Snake Boots. They are water proof and you can wear them all day. I used to wear them to work when I worked out in the woods.

Yea TX,.....I have the 'Vanish' model uninsulated....they aren't the snake boot which is the Pronghorn snake boot model. Best feeling boot I've ever worn......wish I'd tried them years ago.

I've been wearin the ones that start with an R____, and they aint worth a dime after they get wet a time or two they just fall apart. A pair will only last me a month or two, and at $100 to $150 a pair. that gets pretty expensive, and VERY aggravating.  they are pretty comfortable and light weight, and "most" pairs i've had kept my feet dry, they just dont last. i think mostly because they are now glued together instead of sewn, and once that glue gets wet it wont hold squat. JMO.

I'd like to find a pair of boots that my feet won't sweat to death in. They may be water proof but just to hot. Didn't even walk in any water and had to stop and pour'em out. What is a good breathable boot doesn't even have to be a snake boot.

I think some of it has to do with what kind of socks you wear too. sounds crazy but i usually wear two pair of socks, helps cut down on the blisters, and if you have the right combination will cut down on the sweating considerably too. cotton socks sweat my feet alot, i sure aint no fabric expert, well i dont know much at all about fabric, but i do know that i got some wicking socks, that kept my feet dry, they wick the moisture away from your feet, keeping them dry, this works really well in the winter time too, cause dry feet are alot warmer than wet feet.

Duece I have the same affliction, my feet sweat profusely....always have. One thing I've found that will keep your feet more comfortable is to wear a pair of liner socks next to your feet. These are made of acrylic material or even silk and they wick the sweat away from your feet and they stay much dryer, they're really thin and don't take up much room. Stay away from cotton socks too.....they soaks up sweat like a sponge.
tnhillbilly.....I bought the Vanish model Danners and they're holding up very well for me......they're made with some reinforcements around the foot and heel part that help keep them from falling down after they get wet. It had rained so much in south GA last season that my boots stayed wet or were wading in water all day every day and my feet never got wet. Look at a pair of these in the store and you'll see what I mean about being reinforced.

I have had the Justin snake boot for about 5 years and have walked more miles in them then I care to admit.  They have held up unbelievably well and are comfortable like a pair of shoes.  I have worn them hog hunting and quail hunting and they have served me well in both and kept my feet very dry.  I can remeber wading water for extended periods of time and my feet not even getting wet.  I have heard a lot of positive things said about the Danners, I don't think you could go wrong with them.

Not that they are comfortable but i got a pair from bass pro they are rubber wader style some up just shy of the knee.  In the dry months i dont see many so im more worried about when its wet and i hate wet boots

I wear the Justin's, I love them I don't know how I went by all these years without them. Can catch them for around 100 bucks at the Justin factory outlet in Ft. Worth.

You're not in that boat by yourself chainrated, Rocky's quality has gone South in the last few years, they used to be a dependable, dry boot but not anymore. I used to would never wear rubber boots while huinting, I didn't like them at all until I bought my wife a pair of Muck boots that she wanted to hunt in....she went on and one about how comfortable they were but I didn't think I'd like them at all. Well last year I broke down and bought myself a pair and wore them hunting back a few months ago,....boy was I wrong about them, they didn't hurt my feet at all, in fact they actually felt great and I walked a few miles in them on that hunt. They come up almost to the knee and would be good snake boots I guess. Just my opinion.....but I really like 'em.

the muck boot with the sewn on brair proof chaps and also water proof up to the hip are the best thing me and my boys have ever worn don't hunt without them.  but they are hot this time of year.

Here is a link to a recent thread in "equipment that works" over the same subject. I bought a pair of Chippewa's becasue the Danner's I ordered did not fit. I sent them back for a different size.
It sure is tricky for me to buy boots over the e net with the feet I have. Its a good idea to find a place that has what you are looking for and try them on.

My Chippewa's are working out real nice right now but I cant wait to put some miles on those new Danner's!

I have had red head (basspro brand) and rockies and boath are junk.  The rockies were the worst.  Lining was gone out of them in a few months and the sole fell slam off around seven months (held on w/ glue).  Keep in mind these were just worn while hunting and in warm months as we dont have those pesky winter time snakes that red head obviously insulated their snake boots for. Red heads fell appart a bit quicker than I would have expected too.  After boath failed misserably on being "100% water proof" I qestion their snake proofedness as well.

I have been thinking of getting me a pair of chippewas or danners but I like the look of those justins. Was unaware they made a snake boot. 

Where abouts would be my cheapest bet to order a pair of justins?
