Took the posse out to hunt this morning, hit the woods at daylight... a crisp 83 degrees, and zero wind.... Tongue

.... and the day just got better Grin  .......

Put Chub down with the two young dogs(bad idea... I know better than to put two young dogs down...).... Let's just say the first prime half hour of the day(and prime spot) was wasted in "don't mess with cattle class" Angry

..... SO ....   Back to hunting....

Put Snappa out and she flitted back and forth out in front of the truck for about a half mile before pulling into a bottom, went ahead and unclipped Chub and let her go with her.... half dozen shoats later, dogs red-lined and we headed to the tank to cool off.

Worked down the creek next and jumped a lil' guilt in a blowed-over-root hole... we were all already smoked at this point and I tried to call them off but off to the races they went... luckily they shut her down quick and we called it a day before the creek started boiling Wink Grin

2nd time in the last wk my daughter, Fin, has insisted on going hunting with me... She's 4 now, old enough to know when Sunday is Grin  Saturday nights now consist of "make sure you wake me up daddy" Cheesy  .... Which at 4am still suprises me that a little girl would want to drag through the swamp, bugs, mud, and heat after a stinkin' hog... but I'm glad she does Cheesy  Strange sensation not bein' able to drop, run, and grab a boar hog when you got a kid on your back!!!

She was real proud of this lil' hog Grin

Great Job!  I recently started taking my girlfriends boy to the woods and it has been very rewarding, which is the opposite of what I expected.

Now that's what I call a good hunt,.....bet you're happy that yougun likes going with you. My 23 yr. old step-daughter has been going with us some and she really likes it. She's just not real big on wading in the thick stuff to get a hog, but she has surprised me a time or two and may again. Hey, did you take your new Dogo, and if so how did he do?

Ha Ha, ya, Fin don't mind the thick stuff at all.... she just locks the hubs on her personal swamp buggy( ME  Grin ) and pushes the pedal to the medal!!! Grin Grin

Ol' Bucho was with us today... but we never bayed any elephants for him to catch... Grin   Maybe next time...

Lee and I were talking about it today as we walked along... My main CD, AJ, doesn't get used much as it is... these curs of mine usually handle all but the bad ones... on the rare occasions we actually need a catch dog, AJ is sufficient 98% of the time...  "Bucho" is for that other 2%... which just happens to be the 2% I'm  really am after....

Good hunt. It is a blessing that you take your little one hunting. The bond you make will last a lifetime. She is a cutie. The down side is when she is a teenager and still hog hunts and wants to keep those strange hours. lol

That is a good looking kiddo there Noah.  I am scared to death to have a little girl but maybe if I do it won't be too bad  Grin
