So now that I have officially wasted almost 5 hours of Uncle Sams time in 2 days on this board, I figure I should go ahead and introduce myself.

Im Matt, in Iraq till FEB. Im stationed at Fort Hood. When Im home I coon hunt 5 nights a week with a Walker dog. Been around hunting dogs since I can remember we always had a few hounds (coon and squirrel dogs) and some OSW or Scott type American Bulldogs for catching, stock, and utility work on the farm in Alabama. I have been in TX for about 10 years (when not deployed) and I am planning on picking up the pig stickin again when I get back.

Im interested in jagd's do they bay or are they real catchy? I want a pair to hunt with the walker at night and find pig's when we get the chance to go to the lease. Will probably bay and shoot until I get a catch dog ready.

So yeah thats about it. Oh yeah, recently single so I got all the time in the world to hunt now......

Welcome, Matt!

I'm right down the road in Belton, so when you get back look me up and I'll get a hunt lined up for you!
Seems as of late, my hunting partners and I have been enjoying the company of several different Hood based soldiers we have gotten to know here and there.  Our bunch considers it an honor to have you guys along and share a little time in the woods.

Bryant thanks for the offer. I only know of about 2 other people that hunt with any kind of dog around there. I will definately catch up with you when I get back. Hopefully this pig hunting wont mess up my coon hunting too much, Only so many hours in a night

Welcome aboard bud, thanks for supporting our country.  The jagds are great, mine usually will bay one over 150 lbs until help arrives.  On the other hand she will catch a shoat every chance she gets Grin  If you ever come up around fort worth give me a shout.  Be honored to take you on a hunt.
