why so much for Cocaine? or Gas? a Car? a House?  The bottom line is it's what the market bares! My wife raised our last litter of AB/Dogo pups in the house because it was cold outside, she kept them in the bathroom and washed blankets three time a day for nearly 8 weeks. She sold all of them for 500 dollars a piece, Were they too much evidently not because she found a buyer for all of them. If I want something I make a calculated decision whether or not it is worth it to me. If its not, I will pass. If it is, I make the purchase. Dont be offended by an asking price!

Just to clarify for me and everyone else what is your definition of a dog peddler? I myself have sold dogs on this board not quite the prices you mentioned but not much less, and they have performed to my description. I guess I'm not fully understanding your question or maybe more so where its coming from if no fingers are being pointed.

For me, it is not to hard to understand if you think about it like good horses. Folks just pay better money for proven bloodlines and good bred horses. Like a horse, a dog/pup is worth what you can get or give for him.

I dont sell dogs but I have sold a few that I didnt want to sell when I was a young man. In my opinion, both dogs were sold for more than what they were worth but the guys that bought them from me just kept going up on the price even though I told them they were not for sale or even worth what they were offering. They loved them and never regretted buying those dogs from me.

Lets take the $150 pups for sale by a guy on this board for example. I have never met him but, knowing what I know about the dogs those pups are bred out of, I would buy 2 for the price he is asking without blinking an eye if I was in the position and had the need to do so.
I would rather take my chances on a $150 dollar pup out of jam up dogs than a freebie from the feed store any day. You just have a better chance of ending up with a good dog! Simple as that.
What I am trying to say is that, if people can make an extra buck out of the hard work they put into their horses, then why can they do it with their dogs if they choose too?
Like I said, I have no interest in selling my own dogs or pups. I am just sharing my point of view on it.

I understand why u ask for good dogs but I am talking about those that have put little to no work into a dog and edited my original post was a little harsh sounding a dog peddler in my book is someone that will sale some dog they think will turn on but have not put the work into to see.

Its the same difference as folks that sell used cares and used car salesmen.  Wink

Same thing goes for people breeding culls hoping that the pups are some how going to be better than their parents. Plain Stupid.

I gotcha now purebreed...those that aren't honest about said dog.! Thats why everyone suggest to do research on the dog and the seller before we buy. As ninja said just like a car salesman.

Hog dogs are CHEAP compared to any other kind of hunting dog out there.
And also you get what you pay for, I don't expect too much if I am buying a dog for $200 bucks.
Now you start talking $500 and up that is when you should start picking up REAL HOG DOGS!!!

The amount of time/effort it takes to make, let a lone breed, a good dog..... let's just say it would be hard for me to put a value on my own....
