Me and my dad have been talkin bout crossin one of his coyote dogs (which is a stag) with a big dogo or AB female. He is BIG, fast and real tough... Him and his two littermate brothers were catchin and killin their own coyotes at 15 months old and haven't missed one yet.  I would like to try is but the only problem is we dont have the right female.... Would anyone be interested in makin this cross? I think it would make a good RCD. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this cross? I'll get a pic up of him this evening so you can see how big he is..

I am pretty sure that Charlie Gash down in Pearsall has some Stag/AB from the Oklahoma area that he is running.  Bryant/ Underdog on this board will know more about them. Maybe he will chime in.

We have been talking bout this for a long time and the more I think about the more I want to try it. You wouldn't happen to know who he got the dogs from in Oklahoma would you. Im actually from OK.

I don't know the man, but I want to say the sire might have been a brother to Clifford, Mike's old catch dog.  Only person I know, that knows the details is Bryant.

Here is a thread with some pics of the stag bulls....(you will have to sort through the ab pics etc.)

Pm me if I can help you,the two mr.Gash has he loves and uphilldoc had a littermate that worked on hogs to bears but was killed,a pretty good cross but don't know if they are all good with that kinda cross. I do know the man who made them used a bad azz coyote dog over a good bulldog gyp.

I figured the parents would have a lot to do with it. I know him and his brothers can catch and kill a good coyote and have been doin it by theirselves since 15 months. He is sure enough tough enough and has real good size and speed. The only problem I have is finding the right female... I think he is the right dog to try this cross with..

I would like to see your stags how tall are they what they weigh. I have a abxdogo gyp. My main cd.  Has a handle like no other.  Fast smart and good lung but on the small side. 55-60 pounds

Take him off the coyotes and try him on hogs. If you are wanting to breed hog dogs then use dogs that have apptitude and abilty on hogs. What they do on one type of animals maybe says they have alot of drive, but not all drives are equal on different types of game when it comes to actually engaging the prey.

what I am saying is the dog may be top notch on coyotes and only fair on hogs, if you want to breed a "hog dog" then start with dogs that are top shelf. If you are just experimenting then, then its just a guessing game, and know way to know until those slower maturing stag type dogs grow up and thats alot of time spent waiting to find out, if they are going to turn out, meaning alot of money in feedand care to crap shoot.

This is the dog I am wanting to breed to. He has to weigh 100 pounds and fast and tough. I don't think he'll be put on any hogs he was way too much money in him to try that. He is really well bred Beckwith dog. They are bred to be tougher dogs. He bought two of em at 10 months old and started them and really liked em and he found a littermate and bought him. He has been running them 3 by themselves since 19 months old. He wouldn't sale them 3 dogs for any amount of money. They all fight the head and chest.

go for it mate. staghound, deerhound and wolfhound X bull blood are some of the best dogs out over here. i'd put him over a stocky little bitch with a big head so it evened out a nice size. if it were me. each to their own i guess.

I plan on doin this when I can come across a good female. I would prefer a leggy big headed female. Would anybody be interested in making this cross? We could work out a deal with the pups and everything else....

I think you have a very good idea. I have considered this cross myself. I think your Stags are well proven and I would not hesitate to make the breeding. I would cross on a Dogo if you can find the right one. Wolfhound was used in the development of the Dogo so you would be crossing some similar blood back into the mix. Good luck.

Silverton- A dogo would be my first choice to breed to. But I also would be against breeding to the right AB.

I'm lookin to put a Lil more speed and size in a dog that can get there quick and can run with curs if pig does break. The bulldog we got now is quick but he's a Lil smaller only weighing 50 pounds...
