Took my three dogs Cheeto, RL and Jaylee out this morning and after about the last eight hunts with no hogs we finally got one.  We came across some fresh rooting and RL caught a scent and took off with the other two right behind him.  They started baying about 600 yards out on the Garmin.  RL is turning into a awesome dog and Cheeto is a great help dog but before today Jaylee, my half lab half Mt. Cur, has never even seen a hog.  She's only 7 months old and I've been kinda hesitant to hunt her but Cheeto and RL sometimes are more bite than bark and she's got a bark you can hear for miles.  Anyway,  I get to the bay and they have this boar penned in a creek bed.  Cheeto and RL are bayed on the side and I see Jaylee face to face with boar and she is hammering down.  Every time the boar would turn towards the other two dogs she would get closer and bite the hog until he turned back around. Grin Grin  I tried to video it with my phone but it was right after day light and my phone didnt have enough light to pick up.  The hog broke right through RL and Cheeto twice but they recovered awesome and stopped him everytime.  The last time was in the thickest swtich cane I've ever been in.  I never know if my dogs will catch or bay so I bring a Ka-Bar and a .45 so either way I'm prepared.  They never really tried to catch this one so he got a .45 bullet behind the ear. RL and Cheeto both got cut once but theyre not bad.   He's not huge but man I am so proud of my dogs I just had to post this.  I never expected Jaylee to do so awesome on her first hog.

Good work man, I know about the dry runs, my pups may have forgotten that hogs live in the woods!
