Cell phones, Laptop computers, Wii, Playstation, Nintendo DS.  Having all the electronics on the market today, and it being 94 degrees outside, I sure enjoyed getting this pic that Mandi sent me of the kids today.

It's our girls and their friend out riding horses by the barn.

You know, all you hear about is how kids these days are lazy, don't get out of the a/c, or away from the computer. Well, it's moments like these that make me feel like we might actually be doing our job right. Seems like parenting is the most important job a person can ever have, and the one they are least prepared for.

Anyhow, Just thought I would share.

Here's some pics of some other kids that don't fit into your typical "kids these days" stereotype.

Let's see some pics of the next generation in the outdoors.

Just wanna say I am proud of your youngsters. Not many will get close to a horse much less ride one! You go Mom and Dad!   Smiley

Im a proud parent too. My 12 yr old is always outdoors. Only time he is in the house is to eat, drink or dark out. He loves hunting and fishing. He is so excited to be able to own his own dogs now. Supposed to go get a few this evening for him. He says as soon as he gets them he wants to go try them out. LOVE IT! Fishing omg that boy can fish sun up to sun down 7 days a week! Keep the youth in the outdoors and off the computers, games, and couches! GO KIDS! Wink

Great pics Chris!

I think a lot of todays "lazy" kids is because of "lazy" parents.

Saturday morning I took my two boys to the ranch for some pond hopping.  They each caught about 10 nice bass, shot a couple dozen turtles and took turns putting some miles on the new Ranger.  Then, Sunday morning we went down the road and caught two really nice boars.

Weekend before last, I took my oldest son offshore for the first time.  He got a little queezy once, but never got sick.  Once we got into the kings and snapper I never heard anything else about the sickness!  We hit the bay the next morning and wore out the reds.

My oldest is also my main hunting buddy.  Probably been on more hogs than a lot of dogs.

These two boys don't know much about anything that doesn't involve being outside!

Bryant,

Sounds like you keep them in the action.  Hard to argue with those smiles.

Good thread Chris.....

My oldest (17) has hunted/fished with me since he was 6 and is a pretty good young dog man,he competed hard in the beagle little pack hunts w/ ole Ch. Copperhead and loves to coon hunt and terrier hunt but I think I am gonna loose him to the girls soon    :'(

My daughter will be 3 in August, she loves the dogs and loves being out on the 4 wheeler screaming "faster daddy" at the top of her lungs. She already can tell me from the barking what dog is barking and knows how to tell them to "get out" when needed or "load up" I hope she continues to enjoy this stuff with me....

My baby son will be 4 weeks old tommorow and hope to have him enjoying dogs and the outdoors too.

My oldest with his first stick...

Here he is with a recent coon we treed

Cut his head off but him with Spot after a dig.

Chris and uncle Greg coon hunting

and him and one of his blueticks

Ava with Annie..

Checking on some terrier pups

Her buddy Shiner

And her first bulldog Izzy..

I will never forget the awful stench from that boar hog.
