Alright, lost one of the pure black ones last night, still have 10 strong and growin' though!!! Now that they've got some color, looks to be about half are a "blue" color with tan trim.... Much better than all black! Several look suspiciously brindle, several full black and tan as well... Shiner's instinct has kicked in hard, tried to take a grab at me earlier... and wouldn't be persuaded otherwise ......... She's real lucky I like her so much Keepin' 'em inside until they get some strength up, then to a kennel... hope it increases my survival rate!! Shine and the new team! "Blue and tan" male Tail bobbin' day tomorrow!!!

Thanks yall! Raider, Shine is long range for my standards... she typically makes half mile loops until she gets on sign and rolls out... on her bad days a mile or three... try not to hunt her with long dogs as I don't want a dog that'll go that far! Her outstanding quality is she's just a flat out hog finding machine. One of those dogs that when they make it through a block without jumping... there ain't no hogs to be jumped!!! One of those "busy" dogs, to the point I have to watch that she doesn't over do it... She's got a real good nose, but has yet to show me much cold tracking skill yet, hopefully that will fill in more in the future... The defenition of a lead dog... From 3mnths old and on she's just always known what to do, by herself, she just wants to find and bay a hog. I remember taking about six pups, all 2-3 mnths old, to the woods when I first started working with her.... she up and left on a game trail... took me 20 minutes to finally find her, still trailing in the palmettos!! She's a very intense dog, one of those "genetically programmed" hog dogs, she flat out HATES one! Silverton.... tails are bad for beer!!! Nuff said!!! Now for her main fault... she's got a lot of catch bred into her... put her with a catchy dog and bad stuff happens As for the father... He's a cow dog and grove dog. Hunted by hisself always, the man basically uses him as a "send to and shut it down" dog.... Drive through the grove, see a hog slippin' and send the dog to it... pretty much a 100% stop ratio if he gets to the hog the first time. LOTS of bite, will pull the hamstring out of one that won't take a bay... but WILL NOT CATCH!(This was one of my prerequisites for a stud) Don't know about his hunt, he's been trained to stay on the truck and be sent.... but when he gets to scent he'll sure-e-nuff take it. Range... also an unknown, the way they hunt the dog has to shut it down or be called back to maximize efficiency of working a grove... He's owned by a man that's got a real good eye for dogs, and in his words "he's just the fastest dog I've ever hunted"... even made his owner question his traditional CD style as the dog tends to shut bad hogs down so quick, one walk in CD can have his hands full with such a fresh hog and no help... I've never had any trouble finding hogs, even with my shorter range dogs... so I ain't too worried about losing anything with the cross. Only hoping to increase stopping power.... time will tell.....

They look good Noah, they would look even better with their tails left ON....... x 2 You can always send them trashy looking solid black pups to Texas Noah! I dont think they will be a good fit in Florida anyway.

Awesome looking pups...if your not fond of blue feel free to ship him south lol. Nothing kike the anticipation of a planned litter...hope you have awesome luck with them!
All of our dogs are bob tailed and 3/4 naturally (with the exception of CD's). None of them have any balance or steering issues and a few of them are in the 70lb range. It is a lot quieter in the dog box and no bloody tails...plus to us it just "looks better".
