After wondering how many dogs changed hands on boards I wanted to see people responses and see if it is all it's cracked up to be.

Coach, I couldnt critize it because I dont buy those 3 or 4 hundred dollar dogs! I dont buy Help Dogs! I buy finished dogs if I can find one, I would set the expectations up front!  I dont put myself in a position to be burned. I have bought three dogs (finished) off the enet. Two of those deals turned great and one not so much, but I cant say anything negative about the seller because I hunted the dog and made bad decision to buy the pair (completely my fault). I knew what the dogs had and what they didnt have and I paid full price for them anyway. If you buy Strike Dog pups, you are buying (Potential) nothing more! In your tital you refer to Grown Strike Dog. Shouldnt be an issue because you can prove the dog before you buy it.  JMO

This is where I am getting at some people I know and hunt with occationally I can get a 300 finished strike dog but for most there would be something wrong with it because they asked for so little. In my world that's a good deal.  I know a pup could never be considered a strike dog but some people bank on it not me. Even the best two dogs I have seen will sometimes throw out a cull or just an average baydog. I just wanted to see how people would vote. Not calling anyone out, or even asking for advice like I said just wanted to see how people would vote.  Wink You know what I mean.

Coach ; I have never bought a dog that was a finshed dog. And if Im getting in the middle of somthing here where I dont need to be so be it. If a grown dog leaves my yard it will not work for you and if it want work for you it want work for me. I give a lot of pups away to the young people that live in my country. Because that is how I got started. I dont have any grown dogs to sell, If they make the cut they stay here. But if a guy wants to try one as a pup they are more than welcome. And I will tell you this, I keep what has been picked over to keep. If I give you a pup you are more than welcome to come get another one. The way I see it if a person is selling a grown dog their is somthing wrong with it, For one thing or another. Im not trying to say that I have got the best dogs going down the road but they work for me and the people that get pups from me. And we still are culling all along the way.

Never bought a dog from you. Just looks like many dogs trade hands regularly here. Like I said just wanted to see how people would vote!! More wanted to give an opinion? go figure. I did Like what one had to say though and I truly agree. He stated to do like ebay and after the transaction you got to rate the transaction and everyone else would know who was a reputable seller. That wasn't my cause here either just wanted to see how people would vote. More people have read than voted, oh well. Trying to stay occupied and spend some time on this forum before I finish some chores around the house.

I've gotten a few dogs from internet classifieds. Got a real good catchdog that way and the guy I got her from ended up being one of my best friends. The other dogs weren't that great tho.

That is great to hear. My first dealing was about 9 yrs ago got one a bmc gyp strike dog for 200 out of cleveland. Struck everything that night from a cow, armadillo, to a coon finally had it. We had a one on one conversation with me doing all the talking turned her out again to my amazement she struck a hog and never looked back. Best dog I ever bought but the first 2hrs didn't start off so good. Glad she didn't get culled that night. Wish I could find another like her. anybody from there that remembers her let me know I could use another. Heck we all could.

Ive never bought a grown dog on the web but have traded a grown CD for a supposibly $250 bay dog, the guy paid twice that for her and she didnt meet his expectations. She is my best dog and is only 3yrs old and if she keeps up what she is doing she is going to be a damn fine dog in another year or two. She is keeping up with everyones finished dogs now and is only getting better. To say the least I am very happy with the deal.

Never bought one off the net but have bought a couple from a guy that I didnt know anything about. One pup turned out and the other was a gritty SOB but real timid. So one turned out and one didnt. Your bad may be my good so in my opinion just because someone is selling a grown dog doesnt mean its a cull or there is something is wrong with it. It may suit me better(gritty, not gritty, open, silent) Kinda like one persons trash is another ones treasure. Everyones hunting styles are different. JMO

Wish I could. She ended up making a great dog. Will post a picture soon. May jog someones memory. Name of the dog was Sadie. They were some younger guys back then maybe 30 something now. Wished I had her bred before she fell to a big bad boar she had bayed by herself for nearly an hour till we could get to her.

It was a hell of a deal, Thanks alot Boss Hogg. The guys I hunt with all the time ask why you got rid of her. She will not be leaving my yard any time soon thats for sure. She is cut up right now, this is the first time she has got cut down. It was a pretty bad SOB that did it and all the dogs got some kind of cut. She is pretty good about coming out unscaved but not this time.

I have had pretty good luck so far. I bought an adult gyp off this board at a great price. She was priced good because the guy had just been evicted from his home and he was selling all his dogs. if someone is hard up you can get somethin for next to nuthin...

And yes I voted  Wink Wink

I bought a plott/cat gyp off of baydogs and she turned out to be a real good dog, not the best, but suits me!  I also bought a CD off of this board and she turned out to be a good dog so far(she is still young so we will see).
