Man it is nice to have become friends with a veterinarian over the years.  I have sent him countless business of friends and people needing vet help with their dogs.  Also  have sent him many people here in town that needed a honest vet that would not break their bank accounts and works with the people well.

Here a week ago Sunday one of my best dogs Mojo got one of his mojo's cut nearly off.  We tired to fix it but he got it cut by a bad boar hog in a nasty pond and infection set in with end a days time.  I knew it soon as I looked at it the next morning so I took him to Dr Kilgore and he said man o man and went to work on Mojo well that was a week ago yesterday and I picked him up today and I was thinking I was going to have to take a second mortgage on my house just to pay the vet bill but Dr Kilgore came threw like a true champion and the bill I got blew me away because most vets it would have been at least a grand and my bill was no were near that and I thanked him very much and he said to me I told you I was not going to kill you with the bill and man was he right !  Ole Mojo looked great all infection was gone and you could not even tell he was hurt other than the stitches he had .   What a great Job !  He will be my vet till the day I myself am gone !  Best part about it he said he thought ole Mojo still had some Mojo in the other good one said he should be able to produce some pups for me later on down the road!

You need a vet and live close to Rosebud Tx then Dr Kilgore is your man !

Find a real vet. There is a thread with hog dog friendly vets.

Dr. Gerald Kilgore and his wife Nancy have been friends with my family since the first day they moved into Rosebud over 30 years ago.  Gerald is one of the most down to earth vets that anyone will meet. He has helped us with many of our animals and still works on animals for my mom and sister that still live in Rosebud.  We found another ver last Christmas eve when one of our bay dogs got out and hit by a car.  He is located in Madisonville Texas and is named Dr. Totten. We took our catch dog in when he got ripped up by a hog and I thought it was getting infected.  Ranger wouldn't keep his stitches in or staples and when I took him in I was scared to say what happened to him while the doctor was looking at him, when I did finally say that a hog got him, the vet said that he had one question for me....did the dog hold on.  He is a great vet and he is very reasonable in his prices and is on call 7-24.
