i have kept comments to my self on this one too, boarNinja makes a VERY good point. I know that i have made some pretty bad decisions in the heat of the moment that i had regreted later, and i also think that whoever did this was definitly, "in my opinion" tryin to send a message. I think it would be VERY interesting if they ever do catch whoever did this to find out exactly why they would, but i think that they already know who it was. JMO
I dont think a dogs life is worth a humans life, and i know there very different opinions on this Shocked.  BUT, the BIBLE says that we are not to take anothers life, and that there is pleasure in sin for a season, and EVERY knee shall bow, and EVERY tongue shall confess the LORD JESUS. Everyone will stand in judgement. We are not judges.
what would i do if i caught someone doing this to my dogs, or stealin, I dont know, I hope that i would have the strength to think clearly and make the right choice, but like many times before, that don't always happen.

That is nicely said and very true.  angel

That's a shame. Chances are, they have a good idea who did this.  It reminds me of a couple of years ago a rancher by the house caught a hog dogger on his place and pressed charges.  About the time the guy got out of jail, a couple of the ranchers dogs were dismembered, heads put on fence posts.  I don't think they ever proved who did it, but something like that is meant to send a message.  Also, as far as what I'd do if I caught someone doing that, I've been in some situations where people always say they'd kill a man in.  Truth be told, you can't say what you'd do, it seems like your brain shuts down and you just react.

I agree. I honestly don't think any humans... I take that back... I can think of a few people I would choose my dog over... But you can say what you would want to do if someone did this to you but it probly won't ever happen to you and we'll probly never know the whole story. The same thing y'all are saying about this person might have been what that guy was thinking because that boy might have done something to him. He might have killed the other mans dogs and the other guy was trying to get even. There's always several sides to the same story. Maybe this guy just meant what he was saying. I'm not gunna say I would do anything to anybody until I honestly knew the whole story. I'm just sayin' there's no way it's as simple as it seems.

Good post tnhillbilly...

after thinking about it and reading all these posts I have to agree with most of the logic posted on this thread.
I will list them in order of probablity. Huh?

1. Someone is severely pee-ode at a family member or family. Angry

2. Someone is severely mentally disturbed and perceived to have an issue with the family. Angry

3. Could be a mentally disturbed animal rights activist/PETA etc.... Evil
Animal rights activist live in a fantasy world and don't have a clue as to what is right. Smiley

THE BOTTOM LINE IS WHOEVER DID THIS IS ONE SICK PERSON AND IS DANGEROUS TO SOCIETY.... Evil

I would like to have an hour with the scumbag who did this with a bullwhip in my hand.
Don't think I could kill someone for doing that to my dogs, but i'd make them wish I would.

I'm in agreement with those who say someone had a bone to pick with the family. It's unfortunate that someone would be so sick and vindictive.

It's interesting how many people would take a human life for committing such cruelty to animals. I know many of us say we wouldn't shoot if there was someone trying to steal our dogs, but seeing this article may make you rethink your position. Knowing that someone would do such a thing makes me want to use deadly force to protect what's mine. A truck or a saddle is a different story, but I believe that my dogs are family and I will protect my family. "Fearing for my own life" are some pretty easy words to utter.

Does this change anyone's opinion on whether or not you would use deadly force to protect your dogs, or does everyone still pretty much have the same stance as before?

By the way, I believe there is a nice toasty place in hell for someone who could be so cruel. A wood chipper and a catfish pond could expedite their getting there. Oh, and you may want to pressure wash the chipper afterward.

Cheers
M

Yes same stance, i would never take a human life for someone tryint to steal something.  Now if they come in the house to do it thats different.  Now if i caught them in the act, it would be a serious beating until the cops showed up.  But i have dealt with to much theft both personally and professionaly and the consequenses of you to use deadly force is not worth it IMO.  Not to mention the loss of sleep over it and ive been there but the legal consequences could be a whole lot worse.. Again just my opinion

well after reading all the posts and knowing what i posted. i personaly feel my dogs are like my kids and treat them as such, even if a member of the family or the family in whole did something to who ever did this. if it were my dogs and i did somethin to some1 and they did this to my dogs and what i did to them was in NO manner related to what they did, i WOULD take their life. an eye for an eye. i know it aint every1s stomach to take a human life but i hav not had any guilt from those lives i took in iraq.

Just my thoughts
As for the people that did this I dont  call them human
As for taking a life for it, lets put it this way if it was our dogs
I would hunt the low life down. What I would do, I pray we will
   never find out
Dexter
The family is in my prayers
I do know that for sure

My concern is this, if they are sick enough to do this to dogs, then what's next ?  Will it be another animal ? A family member harassed or injured?  Arson?  More vandalism? I can't be there to watch my place all the time unfortunately.  It's too bad it had to happen .

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THE LEGAL PUNISHMENT IS. I KNOW HERE IN GREER COUNTY OKLAHOMA THE SHERIFF PROBABLY WON'T DO ANYTHING BECAUSE HE DOESN'T CONSIDER IT A CRIME TO KILL SOMEONE'S DOG OR STEALING THEIR DOG.

It'll be trespassing and animal cruelty.  Not near as much as they need.
