Blake,
I worm pups once a week starting when they turn 2-3 weeks and slow it down after about 10 weeks of age, and grown dogs... I watch their stool and worm about every 3 to 6 months if all looks good or when the stool looks watery. But runny stools can be from over feeding or a change of food. My dogs are on concrete so re-infestation is low compared to dogs on ground floors.
Thanks Rueben. I guess I am ok then, as mine are also on concrete and I watch them pretty closely. I do give the heartworm pill on the 1st of every month too

Same routine as Mike, I use the safeguard for goats wormer from TSC.(lasts longer, more product for your $) I try to alternate between safeguard and strongid as well.
Do you use the same dosage on dogs as it has on the bottle for goats?

Ivermectin is the active ingredient...you can buy any brand as long as the active ingredient is the same...I buy generic brand in the paste (Tube)... the paste is usually 1.87% and the liquid is 1%... I give ! cc or mil per 50 pounds...been doing it this way for many years...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

I use 2/10ths of 1cc Ivomec 1 percent solution on my mid size dogs once a month. 3/10ths of 1 CC on my big boys. I inject it in a piece of meat and give it to them orally. That is just for heart worm prevention. I then give them a dime size amount of panacur horse wormer once a month to knock out the other types. It works good. When my dogs get cut so bad I can even stitch them up, I take them to the vet and they always test for worms. Never had any issues.

Someone already asked this question, but I didn't see an answer. What dosage of the Safeguard sheep wormer do you use? Do you use the weight ratio on the bottle. I was told the dosage would be more reliable than using the paste form.

I heard 1cc for every ten pounds for the goat/cattle wormer. So a 50# cur will get 5 CCs orally...

I have been trying to locate the link dexter posted a few years ago that shows the mixture for adding ivomec to the valbazen bottle. I cant seem to find it, i think it was off the ukc board or something. If my math is right i think it should be about 50cc of ivomec to 500 cc valbazen. I think it would be way easier to have one bottle to draw from. I always have givin both at the same time anyhow.

25cc of ivamec to500cc of valbazen, & give 2cc per 50 lb dog. shake well after each draw because it doesn't mix well.
