I rarely post this much. I am usually outside doing stuff, but its so hot I keep having to come in and cool  off. This heat is awful! When is this heat going to subside?

Cheers

I agree, we need to put in an order for a cool front. LOL Grin We went hunting last night and it was miserable! Sad The dogs were miserable and the freakin hogs were miserable!...I'm just venting because after all of the sweat last night, we came up empty handed. :'(  C'mon cool front!!!!!

Miserable is the right word. I hate being inside this much but don't have a choice.

Where are all the tropical depressions and hurricanes we normally have this time of year? usually can circulate some air anyway.

Heat waves this long can get dangerous to human and animals health.

I just came inside from welding pipe fence for a neighbor... if you thinks its hot standing outside, you should see how hot it feels with a torch or welding lead in your hand.

Tomorrow is going to be worse.... Going to help CWard gather and sort cattle. Planning on starting at 6:15, but its damn hot by 9:00am.  I think I am going to wear a sombrero instead of a hat. Afro

It's funny I put a wading pool out for the dogs to cool off in. The white dog that needed it the most would not get in the water. So I started going out everyday and would drag her over and pick her up one handed (just had wrist surgery) to get her in the water. I posted a pic of us in the water. I am not sure how many times I did it. But then one day I finally heard her in the water. The bad part is the water is hot! I am going to move it to a place with more shade and put a pump that will spray the water to help cool it more.

It's hot!

this heat is a bi%ch. i moved from ne tx back down to central tx and i lost 5 puppies that were 8 days old. the heat killd them in less than 2hrs and they were all so hot to the touch, it felt like i was hold fish fryin vat just off the cooker. i had my wife put the rest in the cab after i dipped them in water. we r having to bring them in the house every day and hav the moms come in to nurse them. its so hot the pups wont nurse, they whine and wont even get on the tit and feed.

I couldnt imagine raising puppies now, we had a litter in september of last year and between the head/rain/mosquitos I  just about lost my dang mind.  Best of luck with them!

We do not do the dogs until around 6.30/7.00 because it is so hot down here!  We had a tropical depression last week (i think) that made it so much nicer and bearable ... I could stand a few more like it just nothing drastic.

Whenever we let the puppies out the first place they go for is the water tub or the mud puddle that our leaky hose makes and flop around like a bunch of water bugs  Cheesy

The black tub in the background is there personal swimming pool.

Here is Gweedo hanging out, his nose was just above the water ...

Hey chance my gelding with anhydrosis started sweating today. Perhaps we can get some cowhorse 101 in your pens!
He hasn't been sweating properly since a bad banamine reaction earlier this year.

Cheers

i agree it is quite unbearable outside. im drenched in sweat just from walking out to the pens to feed and water....which is only like 40 yds from my house...we got a pond in the back of my place that i try to take the dogs to everyday so they can get in. i used to sit on the tail gate while they swam but now i just hop right in with them.

we are gonna try to hunt tomorrow evening hopefully i hope its not too miserable.

im ready for winter already

Wow, I thought that we were the only people pleagued with a horse that has anhydrosis! James's best roping horse has it. He sweats real good sept. thru may, then he just stops sweating during june, july and august. I keep hoping that someone will discover a cure.

The thermometer inside of our truck read 103 degrees on the way home from Humble just now! It was even hot INSIDE of the mall. We need some wind and rain to cool things off a little.

durin the summer time wheather day or nite, if i go out or i take my dogs out, i always pack 2 IV bags and tubin in case my dogs or myself need fluids in our body. i dont know where to get the iv tubes or bags for the civilians but i got mine when i was in the mil and my wife workt at med clinic so she could buy the bags and tubing and i can get in with the combat medics on post now and they can restock my combat lifesaver bag and keep it up to date. if yaw know any1 in the med field, i would try to c if they could get their hands on the tubin and bags if yaw wantd to pak it in the woods. yea it adds bout 2lbs but it would b worth the life of my dogs or myself to add the extra 2lbs. Bananas are real important and salt. The salt has the sodium and the bananas have the potassium. You need both for you bodies cells. I get lots of salt already but I grab a banana before going out to work and on a hot day it is real important. There are other sources of potassium but it is the one thing most people run low on and cramps are a sure sign of low potassium. Of course you need water too! Be sure you know heat stroke and heat exhaustion signs and treatment. I was alone and had a heat stroke but I was lucky and caught the signs myself before it was too late and got in water fast. But heat exhaustion you have to warm the person. Get it wrong and someone dies!
