My dad tells me the other day he saw a piglet cross the road about a 1000 yards from the house, I went looking and found this about 30 yards off the county road in some thick stuff, there was some sign of where they laid in a woller about 50 yars away from here. There were one set of big pig tracks here and many little ones, didn't see any hogs but it got me thinking it was most likley a lone sow with piglets?. So my question is will a sow travel very far when she has little piglets or will she be pretty close. Thanks for your opinions.

nobody? I know it ain't real impressive to guys who see hogs every day, but a hog near the house is not something we get every day this far north in Oklahoma, not yet anyway Grin

Get some dogs and find out Grin They move as much as the have to as far as I know. It would depend on if anything scared it off.

Dub all i got are pups right now or i might have already done that  Wink thanks. My question is very general i know but I don't really wanna scare it off if it is a sow with piglets, I am mainly wondering if a sow will get alone to have piglets then return to the regular home range or if she has had piglets here will she try to raise them here? there is no human activity in this plot of woods, lots of acorns and very thick cover. It seems like the country pigs flock to up here, but so far we have not seen them this close before

Thanks,I got three pups now that are not gonna be ready until fall and then the'll need some mature dogs to help. Got a brother-n-law with some good dogs but there real catchy and don't want my pups getting that way. so when it gets a little cooler your welcome anytime. If your gonna be free mid sept. We got some places lined out finally up here where we can get on some. There move around alot up here, so we kinda have to keep up with them. Some palces we might only have 10 or 15 and some places got bunches. I will holler at you then and see if you wanna come up
