it's probably 18 months old and in perfect shape. i kept the clear cover on the screen as long as possible, in fact ive only used it about twice since i took it off. of course the collar has a little more wear than the handheld, but it isnt hurt by any means. the power button is a little hard to push, but it's been that way since it was new in the box, and works fine.
