In the state of Texas it is a felony for a dog to catch a hog in a pen... even lay teeth on one if I understand the law correctly. ETHD has always had the policy, since day one, of deleting any picture or video with a dog catching a hog in a pen. This applies across the board to every member, no matter what state or country you are from. There has even been folks arrested on animal cruelty charges for posting these type videos on you tube.

In the field hunting pics and videos are fine. It's perfectly legal and I won't hide what we do. Wink

Jug, you didn't step on any toes... I enjoy seeing dogs work and get started just as much as anyone. We just have to watch some of the things we post on the WWW.

I agree with Mike 100%. Remember it is not only hog hunters that can look at the things you post. Wish the people loading videos on youtube would remember this.

We have to Police ourselves and stand together or we all are going to be paying attorneys over some B.S. Political agenda.

Jug,

I was happy to see the pup getting after it like that, but just think of the spin someone who has no idea that neither of them are getting hurt could put on it.  "Hog Hunters training Pit Bulls as puppys to be Blood thirsty Killers"!  Keep up the good work with your bulldogs and maybe you can bring to North La. so I can watch them work.

the more i think about it the more i see where yall are coming from .. it's just sad that people think like that these days ... i know better then to post things like this on "MYSPACE @ FACEBOOK" , just didn't think about the "passing do gooders" on ETHD ... in Louisiana there is NO LAW for catching in a pen or training CD's in a pen ... the catching events were shut down by PETA by putting the owners of the pen in tight spots when money was slim ... you can call the Wildlife and Fishiers to ask for yourself , like i did ... thanks for the eye opener and won't happen on ETHD from me again ...

P.S. Mr.Mike , You got to be gettin tired of hearing me say "it won't happen again" !!  lol

I live in La. and it doesnt matter if its legal or not.  I am not going to give any ammunition to the lunatics out there to gain support of their local officials so that it does become illegal or jepordize my rights to own bulldogs and hog hunt.  Not to mention I would like to think that the members on this board would like to be viewed as professional, courteous, and responsible dog hunters instead of beer drinking trash that abuses animals.  I think you know Mr. Bud?  Call him and see what he thinks about that point of view that it is legal in Louisiana to video to animals pitted against each other and then posted on youtube. You might want to ask your local officials again about that law.  Pitting two animals against each other is illegal in nearly all states and that includes chickens too.  Training your bulldog in the confines of your property isnt illegal, but doing it for entertainment or cash is.  With that kind of attitude, we will all lose our bulldogs and rights to hunt with dogs.  This isnt a Texas/ Louisiana thing, but a hog hunter thing and everyone should keep that in mind.  Lord knows I am busting my arse to put a positive spin on it, but I am sure there are hundreds of hog hunters that will happily show their ignorance and negate everything I have been working on.

Once again I am speaking to everyone and not singling you out or being rude in anyway, just trying to reiderate what everyone else has been saying for years. "WE ARE UNDER ATTACK AT ALL TIMES and WE NEED TO KEEP THAT IN MIND EVERYTIME WE GO HUNTING AND POST PICS"
