ok well iv got my dog pens not to far from my hog pen my question is is it gonna hurt my dogs ability to track a hog if they are to where they can smell them alot

I dont know about that man, but if I was to put a hog anywhere around my pens,, Id be spending a many sleepless night... Grin Shocked

no i got my best strike dog chained to the hog pen and she never makes a sound unless you tell her to  but out her in the truck shes ready to go

There is an old method of trash breaking dogs by putting them in a pen next to a goat to break them off of deer.  Idea is that they get tired of smelling it  and used the scent therefore wont be so inclined to run that track, however, my finished dogs wont even bark at a hog in a pen or tied.

It shouldnt mess them up though, but I would try to seperate them as far as possible to avoid ticks, fleas, and other things that hogs carry that you dont want on your dog, much less the noise.
